Thank you, you just made my decision on watching this movie. I am tired of seeing high rated movies that are very difficult to watch for me I just don't get whats interesting. The last of them was "The Lobster" which I just couldn't go on with.

There are thought provoking/philosophical movies that are also entertaining and engaging off the top of my mind are Truman Show and Fight Club, but then you have those weird ones like "The Lobster" and "Being John Molkovich". Maybe they should be their own genre.

“Thoughtful movies RCBH928 doesn’t like/understand” is not a very helpful genre to anyone who is not RCBH928 or who doesn’t know RCBH928’s movie tastes extremely well.

Given that genre means a group of work that share similar characteristic and style, I do feel quirky movies like "The Lobster" and "Being John Malkovich" do have a shared similarities. I didn't watch it but from what I heard Birdman is up there too. Maybe the genre is surreal?!

You can recommend it but I believe one should know what he is getting into, if that is what you like, enjoy it. For example, a horror B-Movie fan might give Sleepaway Camp 9/10. For the average viewer he would think he is going to see an Oscar worthy movie, but its not what he is expecting. Same goes for Musicals, if you are not into it, you shouldn't watch Moulin Rouge or Grease although highly rated.

New write-up: C.H.U.D. II: Bud the C.H.U.D

Definitely not an Arthouse film.

Also definitely not recommended for RCBH928.

No offense.

Rewatched the original Fame. Still an incredible film, but it would have worked better if it didn't try to cram four years of storytelling into 2 hours. Maybe do it with each year its own film. Nowadays I could see a Fame series, with each season covering an entire school year, rotating cast members and maybe do a spinoff or two.

Hey guys, if you're on Twitter and need something to do this weekend, I've got something for you. I'm taking over the TCM Underground Twitter handle and will be live tweeting during the TCM Underground showing of David Cronenberg's Rabid, at 3:45 am on July 6. That's Friday night/Saturday morning.

You guys should join me. Especially you, Michi. You know you want to watch Rabid with me.

Well, I'd love to have you join in, Markies, if you're up that late!

I've gotten to work with TCM a lot, on FilmStruck and at the Classic Film Festival. I even got to do a couple of VO special features for them about films such as Scanners, Lady Vengeance, and the Hammer release of The Mummy. This is my first live tweet event, but if it goes well, I may get to do more. Here's hoping!
