So -- any tips on getting better at Dead Cells? I know that there's progression tied through improving your runes, but should I also be improving my Blacksmith after bosses? Will that make the early stages easier through items that are found? I'm not sure if there's a mechanic I'm missing, I haven't really done much with the Blacksmith, only saving my paltry # of cells for rune upgrades.

I feel like runes are a much better bet early on. Focus on the ones that start you off better - like the ones that extend how much $ you keep after runs, or the ones that will give you random starting weapons. You can def start out strong that way. I tend to try to use a nice fast bow, and a couple of turrets as my secondaries. Just fits my personal playstyle well. Basically, I tend to approach the game as a sort of puzzle where I try to just hit everything before they're close enough to hit me when I can.

I just read about some indie game Fox n Forests that's getting a limited physical release on Switch soon via Strictly Limited Games, another small boutique publisher.

https://www.strictlylimitedgames.com/

I'm kind of thinking about compiling a list/directory of all these small publishers putting out limited batches of Switch games. Maybe making it its own dedicated thread? There's quite a few now besides Limited Run... there's that one in England that's putting out Toki. Is that the same one who put out Mutant Mudds? I can't remember. There's Play Asia who's been dropping a stream of shmups. I know there's a couple more I'm forgetting. Could be a useful resource.

^- Should be a nice resource, especially for people 10-20 years down the line who are trying to get a complete Switch set. Have fun tracking down those games that got 1000 copies made, and were sold out in five minutes by an online-only store, people of the future!

So a whole load of UK retailers apparently haven't received their Pokemon Let's Go stock from Nintendo in time for tomorrow's launch.... My pre-order is affected :(

Yeeeeah, still not a fan of this sort of thing.

Ya know, I almost bought a Limited Run game, once. Having a portable (Vita) version of Ys Origin sounded sublime. But I missed the original sale and of course the website had no more copies. So I hopped on eBay praying that the scalpers weren't charging too much. It was then that I discovered the game had also received a Chinese release with an English language option. So I got that instead. lulz

So far I've got Thimbleweed Park, Yooka-Laylee (although still waiting on that one to ship) and Worms WMD (although that one was a close one - I hadn't realised it was on sale until Super Rare Games posted an update on Facebook saying nearly all copies were gone. So far, it doesn't seem as hard to pick up Switch limited games. They seem to have larger batches or open pre-orders.

Edit: Just got N++ from Super Rare Games, on sale now! Only 4000 copies if any of you are interested.

Oh, also Switch-related - there's new NES games added to the Online Service now... Metroid (yay!), Twinbee (pretty cool) and Mighty Bombjack (meh), along with one of those weirdo ROM hack thingies for an easy-mode Gradius.

Geez they rom hacked Gradius this time? Start with the Konami code? Start with 9 lives? I should look that up, because even both of those wouldn't help make it much easier because after you die that first time you're kind of screwed after a few stages.
