I'd hate throw down $20+ on another PC controller when my current one could be comparable. Anybody here use both and can make a comparison?
Its really good. I had a PS2 version for the longest time and sold it off when my 1st PS2 died for a fraction of what I could get for it now. I have regretted it ever since.

I had one of these dual action pads before ( http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gamin ... 8&cl=us,en ) which looks like it has the same d-pad as your precision. The D-pad was pretty good on that controller too, I just had issues with the analog sticks so I gave it away. I have pretty much just been using my PS2 controller since.

Yep, that's the same exact d-pad as my Logitech Precision.

Would you say the Saturn pad is much better than this?

I would say its a lot better, especially for fighting games. I know my cousin and I used to fight over who got to use it when playing SF Anniversary. I wouldn't have bought it for the $50 they were going for a few months ago, but for $20 I think it's a steal.

If it's not some cheap knock-off that is. I bought this gray/blue one to go with my Mini10 that is also gray/blue. Call me stupid, but it matches.

The reasons the Saturn pad is better are 1.) The ergonomics are fantastic, and 2.) The floating D-pad is clearly superior to rigid D-pad.

The SNES D-pad is the greatest D-pad ever created by man. But the Saturn D-pad is a decent substitute.

True SNES D-pad trumps all substitutes.

Let me know how the blue/gray one works out for you when you get it. Most likely I'll order mine from the same seller.

OK I received it yesterday. If it's not the real deal, it's a damn good knock off down to the SEGA stamped on the USB connector.

So far I have been able to run it through it's paces on Genesis emulators, MAME, and on my PS3 playing SSF2HD remix and damn it's good (you just have to remap the buttons). The D-pad is definitely as good as I remember it. Maybe somebody with an original Saturn pad can tell it apart in a side by side comparison, but I can't. I will be ordering another next week.

This is the one I got by the way: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-USB-Gray-SEGA-S ... dZViewItem

Decently fast shipping considering where it came from.

I got a Saturn USB pad and compared it to my grey Saturn non-USB pads. It's a very good copy. It seems to have the same feel. On the back of the USB pad, there's an SLS sticker where the embossed Sega logo/model number would be. The start button on the front is subtly different from the official grey one.

What does your controller have on the back?

I have to say that it's a very good knockoff. I'm planning to send an email to Sega to ask if there were ever an official Sega USB controller ever produced.

I know the answer to that. Sega released Puyo Pop fever for Mac on June 24th 2004. Sega included a white Saturn controller with a USB connection. The controllers were more popular than the game. Two months later Sega briefly produced stand-alone grey saturn controllers with USB connections.

Here's a link to an old article that announced the grey controller.
