I started up Ikaruga (Dreamcast) last night to test out the HRAP2SA. It plays well but the stick is loose and obviously intended for fighting games. I may build a custom "shmup" stick later on.

you can shim the inside of the microswitches to shorten the throw on the joystick, it works wonders for shmups. see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QytcbzZmXaI (I only did the shims, I did not tape the shaft, and it works really well. I also like the feel of an octogon gate which can be obtained from lizardlick.com for $5)

I've been playing Geometry Wars, Cloudphobia, and ChoRenSha 68K on the computer.

I also just got a copy of Gradius V on PS2 and have been playing that too.

I'm just doing Nanostray on the DS. Decent game for what it is, but it sucks that the only way to change weapon is using the touch screen.
