Has everybody warmed up to the name now?
I never had much of a problem with it.
"Dreamcast" on the other hand...wow, that was a gay name at first. Didn't stop me from buying the system in '99, though.
Yeah I kinda forgot about that.... After Sega played around with all the planet names (between the Saturn and code names for other projects), "Dreamcast" kinda came outta nowhere.

I happen to like Purple.
In any case I agree on the form factor: the Cube is the best looking, compared to PS2 and XBox. Actually it might be the best looking console to me. I'm quite partial to the Dreamcast - it is quite nice looking as well.
I'm personally not much into the form factor of the Wii... I never went into iApple craze in terms of aesthetics, and although I admit the advantages of vertical stands for storage purposes (as in the PS2 as well) I think the small Cube and Dreamcast designs were nicer (maybe I'm just too retro with the horizontal mindset).
Ivo.
I'd have to agree with all of that. I found the purple version of the gamecube to be the best looking, but that comparing the PS2 to the Gamecube in my lil' entainment system I have in my room, the PS2 sticks out like a sore thumb. And the whole shiny thing, I really don't know how well that will look next to my TV and stuff...I personally prefer black plastic or other dark colors. Unfortunately silver seems to be a dominating color for many devices
