Sega Genesis 2 power switch

I am building a wooden vertical front loading Sega genesis out of a genesis model 2. When i attempting to remove the power button to relocate it on the new front it fell apart, literally, i have another genesis 2 that i can take the power button from but i was wondering if anyone knows where i would be able to find a replacement button or switch. Thanks

Your best bet is probably to buy a broken system from somewhere.

If you are rearranging parts you are probably comfortable soldering. Buy a different kind of switch and wire it in.

I have been looking for a replacement switch/button however i have been unsuccessfull so far. if you have any idea of where to find a new one or something similar that would be much appreciated.

Just go to Radio Shack if you are in the US. What kind of switch is it? Does it just notify the system to turn on or does it actually physically enable current flow? If the latter, any two-mode switch, toggle, pushbutton, or otherwise should do just fine.
