I have seen plenty of times people complaining about the beginning and things being reversed in the Wii version but i personally haven't really seen any hate for it. Skyward Sword is the one that always get's the shit.

It's a continuation of all the problems Ocarina of Time had, at least for me. It's an okay game, but it really outstays its welcome and could really use to be shorter. I had to made myself finish it when I beat it for the first time a year or two ago, and I don't think I'd ever want to play through it again. Granted, I didn't enjoy SS to the point I couldn't even make myself finish it, TP is definitely my 2nd least favorite Zelda. OoT is only above it for nostalgia reasons, really, as I don't like either of them any more, particularly. Played through OoT 3D back when it came out and that was another one I had to really make myself finish again.

Skyward Sword doesn't deserve all the hate it gets imo. It's a contender for my favourite in the whole series.

I liked TP but after that, I was worn on the Zelda formula and skipped SS & every 3DS Zelda. Hyrule Warriors & Botw got me to buy Zelda again. TP was just a game that was giving into fans for Spaceworld 2001. Skyward Sword seems like a good game but a bad Zelda game in that it takes away exploration and makes it far more linear and feel that's not what fans wanted..yet people complained Wind Waker & TP were too big. Botw is massive but always something to do and find.

Possibly the best story and characters in the series. My favorite characterization of Zelda by far. And that music!

The beginning of Twilight Princess isn't as bad as some of you may remember. When I replayed it last year with the HD release it felt like that stuff was over in a breeze honestly. The Wolf Link parts are weak too, but also wasn't as bad as I remembered. I always liked TP and loved it even more a second time around.

Agreed. Skyward Sword is probably my third favorite after Link to the Past and Breath of the Wild.

I've tried multiple times to get into Skyward Sword and just couldn't. I just couldn't get to grips with the controls and perhaps it was just feelings of fatigue from having played so many entries in the series, but the game really didn't grab me like previous Zeldas did. It's the only main Zelda game I haven't beaten other than Zelda 1 and 2 on the NES.

Twilight Princess is my favorite 3D Zelda. It does have a slow-ish start, but once it gets going, its awesome, and it stays awesome.

I had two big problems with Skyward Sword. First the game plays like every single step of the adventure is pre-planned. Even more so than normal Zelda games are. I didn't feel like I had any autonomy or freedom in my actions whatsoever, but rather I was constantly following a script that must be adhered to militantly. I find it hard to explain succinctly what I mean by this, it would take a lot of paragraphs to really explain myself.

Secondly, Skyward Sword is too padded with its own recycled content, in order to artificially extend the length of the game. Two examples would be fighting The Imprisoned over and over, and collecting Tadtones over and over. Once for both of those would have been enough.

Now that doesn't mean I think Skyward Sword is terrible. I can recognize the good things about it. The controls didn't bother me. I just ran out of patience with its game design. Maybe someday I'll revisit the game and finish it.

I'll dogpile on it, I don't like TP much. Those reasons earlier are good ones as it's too damn slow, bloated and long, overstays its welcome. You get a lot of repetitive overly done time sucking collection quests per area. The game has an annoying throwback save mechanic from the 2D era of it saves at the last 'door' (door, cave, etc opening) and whatever after gets forgotten and items lost too. The story was fine but it didn't help make the game less annoying with such huge fairly empty slow to cross areas that just dragged and dragged some more. It's not the worst though for sure console side, that goes to majora's mistake which I've dug into before so I won't again. I found Skyward Sword suffering the same problems at TP to a point but it was more fun and less insufferable even if it did force those motion controls to its detriment at times. The last 3D Zelda game pre-Switch I could find myself happily finishing was Wind Waker, and Ocarina wasn't bad but I had to make myself after months off finish it (desert to colossus to finish.)

I ABSOLUTELY agree with this 100%.
