That is a great start. This is exactly what I was looking for. I will find some of the Hearty Durians and cook them with meat and boosting items. I think this basic idea, including the 20+ heart boost of cooking 5 of them will be great for boss battles.isiolia wrote:Main thing to keep in mind is to try the simplest combination first, as cooking single items (or ingredients) often works fine.SpaceBooger wrote: What are some quick easy staple recipes?
I hate cooking or any crafting in games, so I rarely cook nor do I want to spend a ton of time cooking. Please share with me a couple staple recipes that will help me - IE one good one for filling my hearts, one for giving extra hearts, one for stealth, one for defense, etc...
For basic HP recovery/extra hearts, Hearty fruits/vegetables when cooked are solid. What I used (and a common recommendation ) is the Hearty Durian. Cooking just one will still give you a full restore plus several hearts, which is what I usually carried. That one spot next to Faron Tower has plenty to snag, so hitting that up and then cooking them will set you up on basic healing for a while. Or you can combine them for a ton of extra hearts, I guess, I didn't really do that.

How many hearts do you have SB? I still only have four myself.

Six I think, I'll check that again when I load it up tonight.noiseredux wrote:How many hearts do you have SB? I still only have four myself.
I also have one extra stamina bar.
I'm wondering if I should keep going five hearts per stamina... or just go hearts to get the master sword asap.

I found the single extra stamina wheel was enough for 90% of what I was doing when I wasn't just trying to blitz through the terrain, and I could make up the difference with the stamina restore/extra max stamina potions (which, like the extra max hearts potions, fully refill). I then did hearts til I met the requirement, then switched back to stamina again.

I guess I don't have a full extra stamina bar, just an extra section (1/4th maybe?).
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
I found just one full stamina bar (or one plus 40%? I forget) was fairly vital to be able to get through much of the areas without a problem and not even but rarely having to snack on stamina boosters. I went in for basically mostly into hearts considering the hits you take in the game are devastating.

I have +2 stamina and 5 hearts now. The stamina seems plenty so going for more hearts for now.
Killed my first moving guardian but with aid of ancient arrows sadly.
Found one ancient core so far.
Y'all been to that floating labyrinth? It's like a dungeon crawler Zelda level.

I mentioned it earlier but I think I'm the only one, or at the very least one of a few, who has a full three wheels. I went for hearts at the beginning with stamina every two heart increases. But as soon as I was able to meet the 13 heart prerequisite for that sword, I went and traded the hearts in for stamina till I got three wheels total.
I love stamina.

I think I was at a point in the game where my armor ratings were improved enough where I could take some hits so I felt I could do without a few hearts.

I got up to 6 hearts, then went for a full extra wheel of stamina. Then I got up to 8 hearts and got my second wheel of stamina. It depends how much time you spend wandering aroudn though. The convenience of extra stamina is less pronounced if you don't spend all your time climbing every mountainside like I did.casterofdreams wrote:I mentioned it earlier but I think I'm the only one, or at the very least one of a few, who has a full three wheels. Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
I took down Vah Ruta from the inside last night.
I did leave the dungeon to cook some stuff based on isiolia's suggestion. I used all of my Hearty Truffles and Hearty Radishes, those were the only hearty things I had and mixed them with a Hyrule Herb to make about 7 full health +1-6 extra hearts. I also went to the Great Fairy to improve the armor ratings for the Zora Armor and the Stealth Suit.
I only had to use 2 (I think, maybe 4) of those food items during the boss battle inside. I'm not sure if that was too much food to eat during the battle that I am not skilled enough, but it worked.
Next, I will be off to find the Zora Helmet and more shrines before heading to the next divine beast which I think is in Death Mountains.
