I also had a hernia repair in 2009 that was more of a real nightmare. Couldn't even walk up the steps for a few days and was basically sick for a month. This was back when I was living with the family though so they were around to help. My mom did all the driving and waiting yesterday, then I went to their place for the day, but drove back home at night myself. So that probably really sums up how easy going the recovery is for a septoplasty, at least it seems to be going smoothy for me. Who knew a little nose blockage could wreck so much havoc, I think this is going to be a game changer for my quality of life. Breathing is quite vital after all...

I hope the surgery correction fixes that rather than an after effect of the anesthesia, heh. Yeah I was put under. Had a septoplasty done, repaired a bad deviated septum. For years I thought it was a neck related injury from a dozen years back, or allergies/asthma, but finally saw an ENT this year and low and behold... he couldn't even see up the right side of my nose at all. I thought my allergies and sinus issues were just getting worse by the year for some reason, but this was probably the reason. He said people can just be born with this and it might become a problem in adulthood, since I don't recall ever breaking my nose or injuring it. I don't dig around the net as much as I used too for health related things since it can be a scary trap, but yeah I did briefly look into what the deviated septum could be connected too and TMJ does come up, along with post nasal drip, vision problems, facial pain, etc all this annoying junk I had going on.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Huh, I'm glad to hear the recovery isn't as wicked as I've heard from others. I have a deviated septum myself, although mine was caused by an injury. Perhaps it's what causes my TMJ. I've thought about getting it fixed, but I've always been too scared (plus, my insurance sucks). My sinuses can be a bitch at times, I often have to wear Breathe Right strips to bed and use saline spray during the day. But I've wondered if it was all due to my deviated septum, or if smoking had something to do with it. Time will tell.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Yeah, the coincidence is that the blocked side of my nose that wasn't working is the same side where my TMJ was the worst. So that seems like more evidence to me. I'm guessing not enough airflow going into that side was causing a bunch of strangeness. No real idea though.
No positives to smoking! Saw your other post above, keep at it dude.

Fatter wallet for you too.
Wish my mom would quit.

Please give your mom this book, and tell her that she can keep smoking while reading.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
3 days post surgery, yesterday and today feel a little rougher. I'm just so exhausted. Nose is still extremely sensitive so I'm afraid I still might have to go a few more nights having to somehow sleep sitting up and be elevated. Luckily I think the healing is coming along really well, scabs and nasty stuff are falling out and it's clearing up, but yeah. Still a lot of maintenance...

Definitely good news on the .hack port. I'm also hoping it brings down the price on PS2 copies... or maybe I should unload this copy of Vol. 3 I do have before that happens.
Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
I'd say it will probably be like Conker after Rare Replay came out it will drop but I doubt it will tank seeing as the .Hack games at least Part 4 and the GU series are pretty hard to find.
Plus I haven't really heard a bunch about this port. Just happened to bump into it on Amazon and if I hadn't read the description I would have just thought it was a new G.U. game.

There are a ton of new preorders up. I also picked up White Day: A Labyrinth Named School another cool port/remake coming to PS4.
