I focused too much on finding that perfect job or getting that big paycheck. I lucked out with the good job that I've been at for awhile now so "easier said than done" of course, but once I stopped focusing so much on work and put all that energy more into life and things outside of the jobs, I got so much happier. Work isn't life.
I was just so happy to leave my previous job that I didn't fully understand where I was going to. During me leaving, I was never looking forward to my new job; I was just happy to leave my old job. So, when I started my new job and it turned out much worse than I imagined, then I fell right back into the depression I was feeling. It turned much worse and how am I going to move on when I just started 3 days ago.

I can definitely attest to that as well. I really enjoyed the first 8.5 years from my previous job. I wasn't making that much, but I enjoyed what I was doing, who I was working with and I was still able to play all my games as well. Things changed and it got much worse. But, I would gladly take those days back. Work wasn't super exciting, but it wasn't super annoying. Work was fine, but it never affected my life outside of it.

Midlife crisis survivor here. I quit my job just before I turned 35. I didn't have any plans, but I knew I couldn't keep doing what I was doing. I ended up going back to community college for a 20 unit Library Tech program. It seemed like a really stupid idea (I so expected to fail, that I barely told anyone I was doing it), but somehow it worked out. Finally doing work that I enjoyed improved other facets of my life and helped me to climb out of a 15 year depression.

That doesn't help you much right now, but just know that it can be done. It probably won't be easy, but you can decide what you want to do with the rest of your life. Best of luck to you.

No, Thank You so much for your story! You have no idea how much that helps and how great it is to know that there are other people out there who experienced what I am experiencing.

I have always been against going back to school as I barely survived college and I know how expensive college can be. I know that getting a secondary degree or a Master's would be very expensive and I don't know if I could even apply for it.

But, I do like the idea of going back and getting a Certificate. It wouldn't be a full on degree and it would help me land a job much easier than a regular degree. My brother-in-law got a degree as a Pilot and Computer Certificate, he now makes good money working on servers with the Computer Certificate.

Glad I could help a bit. :)

I never even made it through college my first time around. I flopped around, taking classes for a lot of years, but I wasn't working toward anything in particular which is one reason I failed. Going back as adult was different. You have less time, which is scary, but it helps focus the mind. Once I decided on my goal, I only took classes that helped me attain that goal. With a 20-unit program, I was done with school in a year.

I don't know what community colleges are like in your area, but they can be a great resource at a relatively low cost. When I was thinking about going back to school, I looked through the entire course catalog of my local community college trying to find something that 1) would help me get a job and 2) would be something I would enjoy. Maybe give that a shot.

If you do find something you're interested in, try to work in an internship to go along with the program. Even a brief internship can work wonders. I truly hate to admit it, but networking is everything.

I freaking hate Pintrest! Anytime I go googling for images nowadays I usually land there and then it's such a pain downloading the images and getting the best resolution out of them. Anyone know ways around Pintrest? Without having to register/login?

So I've had my PS4 since Thursday, around 5:30pm to be exact, and...

:D I LOVE IT!! So far, I only own one disc-based game, which is Uncharted 4 and while it's the only game in the series I've really played (aside from the Vita game), I can honestly say that after this I've gotta check out the other games.

Other than that, I mostly have demos (Doom is definitely on my wishlist), Vita Cross-Buys (Hotline Miami, Axiom Verge, Vertical Drop Heroes HD) and free-to-play games (really like Marvel Heroes Omega).

When I get the cash, I'm gonna invest in PS Now and PS Plus. And Crash Bandicoot: The N. Sane Trilogy.

Smiled because Cloud/Bayo Amiibo will soon ship.

Pissed because none of this shit matters anymore. My time alive is coming to a close and I don't want to die. Fuck everything.
