What's coming out about him is pretty telling. He was aggressively liberal, aggressive being far more important than the liberal bit. He also had multiple run-ins with law enforcement. I think the story that will play out will be similar to the story that usually plays out, that he was the kind of person who was eventually going to snap over something.

From what I read, most of the run-ins involved traffic violations and one citation for not renewing a license for whatever it was he worked in. If that's a sign for a possible psycho, than that one friend I have that has trouble parallel parking is seriously SOL.

Exactly. Extremism is any form is dangerous. We need proper mental health care in this world. We keep cutting benefits towards mental health and it is genuinely screwing people up.

I completely agree. The country needs a complete overhaul of how we both view and handle mental illness. If I had a quarter for every time I heard someone say someone just need to 'get over it' I'd have enough for a readily available pile of cream pies to throw in their face every time it was uttered.

The DUI and assault charges were of greater interest to me. Also, some commentary from people who knew him that, and I'm paraphrasing, he got in a few fights sometimes, sure.

So, extreme rhetoric in public posts and violence in his background.

The shooter this morning was apparantly a 60 something year old from illinios, who left months ago and resided in a white van next to the YMCA near where the shooting took place. He apparantly asked if there were republicans or democrats in the baseball field before began the shooting. I really hope the congressman and everbody else are doing well and recover fully.As a left leaning proggressive (not anti gun, just want more regulation) I cant help but point out the irony in republicans getting gunned down by a AR-15 (If thats what was used) Pehaps that was a motive? A sick way to rub their nose in their own gun policy. In any case, here we are with another chapter in americas gun law debate.
