I agree. I'm only about halfway in, and I've already hit stuff in StarTropics that was harder than anything in The Legend of Zelda. (And yes, I beat the original The Legend of Zelda on an actual NES.)Sarge wrote:I'd probably be willing to say that I never had a ton of trouble with the original Zelda, at least not any more than with StarTropics.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Zelda can be a pain if you don't get the better swords and tunic/rings.
Re: RPG Progress Report

I'm on the 4th palace which is the Pyramid of Giza pretty much. It's the most confusing dungeon yet. I also found my waifu of the game and it's.....an inkling girl from Splatoon grown up.

StarTropics
I made more progress in this tonight, got to chapter 4. I think this is fun overall, but man does this game pull some dirty tricks. This is probably more enjoyable if you use savestates. Also I think I found an upside down cross in a first party NES game:

Don't know what's up with that. Genyo Takeda trolling?

FFXI...
Currently sitting at 63RDM, most of the way to 64, with the only other job leveled being DNC at 50. Skills are mostly lagging behind, but that's kind of normal (to a point) for the job. Sword is capped though, and RDM getting Vorpal Blade natively now is niiice. I've gotten 3/5 of my AF done, not sure on how doable the final quest will be, but I'll likely try it tonight sometime.
Generally though, Trusts and such have proven to be quite well tuned for level-appropriate content, making a lot of it fairly comparable to doing it with other players. In turn, there's more synergy between different things than I recall. Like, pretty much needing to do through nation missions to rank 5 in order to do limit break 3. Rhapsodies is on hold until nation rank 6...
Back in the day, getting airship access via rank 5 was more of a motivation.
Still, for all the added convenience and faster rates of XP/etc, there are a lot of speed bumps left in place. It's certainly faster (and soloable), but you can't just skip to endgame. Not that I'm trying to, just saying.

Isn't that technically the cross of St. Peter? It's the crucifix upside down that's evil.

Yes, but anti-Christian groups, especially in the 20th Century, co-opted the Cross of Saint Peter and warped its meaning the same way the Nazis did with the Hindu swastika.MrPopo wrote:Isn't that technically the cross of St. Peter? It's the crucifix upside down that's evil.

There's a crossover event for the new Death hero in Heroes of the Storm next week, so we'll have to play it together for the special Diablo rewardsnoiseredux wrote:Diablo III, level 40, Act IV. Love this game.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Well Futaba in Persona 5 is my waifu.
Red hair. Introvert. Hard time in public places and blames herself for the loss of a parent. Nerd & really into tech. Likes to wear masks to hide (I don't wear maks in public but do sometimes at home...my long sleeves/pants and hat year round is my of hiding. Elvis hid his neck with a scarf and such). Yup I can relate. So going to have MC pursue here.
Ann is quite boring. Makato is stuck up. This game is getting better but the plot is way behind Persona 4. I don't feel there is much of one in this. I also just did 4 mementos in one sitting.
