I can't compare it with my perspective because I didn't have the same experience (except for one very specific part of the game that is JANKY AS SHIT and I'll let Souls fans guess what that is because I don't want to spoil anything). So I guess all I can say is that's a fair argument from your perspective.

Out of curiousity, I just googled it. I'm not the only one.

The camera control is rough, there is intermittent input lag, and the hit detection is questionable at best. I also wouldn't map the buttons the way they are, but that's just me.

It's a good game. But it has flaws and most of them seem to be technical in nature.

To be fair, I have read that a lot of people say that most of these issues were tightened up for DS2 and subsequent games. I wouldn't know because I haven't played them yet. But I hope it's true.

You keep making this strawman argument that I suddenly can't enjoy a game if it has an easy mode. That was never my point. My point is that it's okay for some games to be hard as hell and refuse to compromise. That's the developer's own artistic integrity and vision.

How is this even an argument? Oh, right, the internet!

Developers have the right to make their games as hard as they want, and users have the right to decide to play it or not. Plus, users have the right to complain and say they want change. Developers have the right to take that into account or ignore it.

Why is there any more discussion than this?

That's so cute, throwing out the baby face saying if someone wants an optional easy mode they need to get skills?

Seriously? Pissing time on a bullshit video game isn't exactly getting some valuable let alone at any level useful by the book meaning of a skill. Go learn to make some custom shelves, rotate 4 tires while doing brake pads, replace and hookup an entire toilet -- that's some useful skills.

Being a jerk about someone wanting an optional easier mode to just experience the environment of the game is not a crime and shouldn't be attacked like heresy. Stupid internet argument.

Who's to say that person does not already have the capability to handle such a game but doesn't want to waste the time on it because of limited time to bother in life? Guess they should be punished I suppose. Let me guess, google (X game) fanfiction and go read a book right?

As I have repeatedly stated, the option to offer easier play modes is always up to the developer. But you do seem bothered by the claim that a developer choosing to do so harms no one. There seems to be more to this than just some affront at the suggestion Dark Souls should have an easy mode (which I haven't actually asserted.)

Also, Contra Hard Corps did have an easier mode. The original JPN version.

Bleh, c'mon guys, it's just a discussion. People can have different viewpoints and argue them. We're all brothers and sisters at the end of the day.

True that! I just feel like this particular discussion is just going in circles and not accomplishing anything.

I agree, I think everyone's gotten their respective arguments across on this one.
