Ornstein and Smough are honestly the toughest fight in the base game. It's all coasting downhill from there in my opinion. Some people hate the Four Kings but I smoked their asses good.

You're over half-way there. I'm actually less of a fan of the post Lord Vessel game as the interconnectedness of the world becomes less apparent and the difficulty, at least for me, took a dive.

I'd toss them into whatever stat gives you the highest scaling for the weapon you like using the most.

I'm SL 51. Any upgrade costs 15.6K souls. My relevant stats are as follows:

Vit 21
End 30
Str 30
Dex 14

Everything else is at baseline levels for a Wanderer. My guess is that I would benefit from more Dex since both my leveled up weapons have a decent Dex component to their damage. Then again, more health is probably always useful....

Also, I'd like to know which weapon to stick with given my stats. I also have a +10 Longsword. I have a bunch of other weapons, but nothing really upgraded. I know some scale better with strength and some with dexterity but I'm otherwise clueless.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Edit - And where the hell do I go now? This place doesn't lead to anywhere (I got the Lordvessel).

Edit 2 - How much of this game is left?

Congratulations!

Many weapons scale with both STR and DEX to some extent, and it'd depend more on what you personally prefer to use than anything. I would say to just push HP up for now though. I'm doing a sorcery run at the moment, and only have 20VIT...which seems pretty fragile relative to other runs.
Higher STR will let you use more greatshields though, which sound like they may be a playstyle you like.

You still have well over half of the game left, more if you plan to do the DLC.

A couple potential things to do in Anor Londo (not that you can't just warp back there):

If the Fire Keeper was missing after you got back from ringing the second bell, and you got the Black Eye Orb, it becomes usable in the church where you enter the O&S fight from. Invade, get her soul back, etc.

If you went back to the starting area and got the doll from the room you start in, you can also go do the Painted World. It's the ginormous painting in the church you ran across the rafters in.

Now that you can warp, it's also more convenient to go through the Great Hollow down to Ash Lake.

However, the main quest is now going to be filling that shiny new Lordvessel with four great souls. (Four Kings, Witch of Izalith, Seath the Scaleless, and Gravelord Nito).

The standard route would be to just head back to Firelink and talk to Frampt. Technically, you can also not talk to him, and go for the Four Kings, which will get Kaathe to show up instead when you beat them.

The path to the other three bosses is blocked until the Lordvessel is placed via one of the serpents.

Four Kings is through the New Londo Ruins (the elevator in Firelink goes down there). You will need an item from a boss in Darkroot Garden to fight them as well. You can find the ember allowing for +15 normal weapons along the way.

Seath is through the Duke's Archives. If you go to the first Anor Londo bonfire, exit, and go left, there's a path behind the lone giant knight that leads up there.
If you have rescued Dusk in Darkroot, then there's an enemy early in this area that drops the DLC entry item. The entry point is over where the crystal golem holding Dusk was.

The Witch of Izalith is through Lost Izalith, which you get to past where you fought Quelaag. There are several smaller bosses along the way there.

Gravelord Nito is down in Tomb of Giants, which you get to via the Catacombs, entered past the graveyard next to Firelink. You may want to invest in a Divine weapon of some kind for this area (skeletons killed with one will not revive, including ones Nito summons). There's a minor boss along the way that will give you an item that'll let you kindle up to 20 Estus as well, which might be handy to get.

Once you have all four of those souls, you can open the way to Gwyn.

Uh... Thanks?

I don't understand anything you said after "over half the game left, more if you plan to do the DLC."

Hope it helps! I think you got this man. Only major roadblock I see ahead is the final boss, but he is easy for some people apparently.

I'd like to beat the game, just to say I have if nothing else.

Which area would you recommend I try first? I got my ass kicked in New Londo. But I have made some progress in the catacombs...

Also, I've read that I need to kill a giant wolf in Darkroot. Is that right?

Gwyn didn't even know what hit him in my game. I may have over-prepared a little.
