That's exactly right. I came on here just like Segata did for the first few months, a true Dreamcast enthusiast (still am too!), but my love for Atari is deep only because the 2600 and the 7800 were the only consoles I had until I got my NES on Christmas of '89 so I spent years playing those and although not all the games are perfect, many of them have still been fun even today, in fact I discovered a new 2600 game I never played only a few weeks ago, Jawbreaker.

I know this is the thread to say "your console isn't nearly as good as mine" but as AJ pointed out, 2nd gen isn't talked about (or liked) nearly as much as the other generations here. At least the 2nd generation discussion thread is quite active, and I try to throw a few posts in there often.

I don't hate Atari or that era. Also when I say things it sometimes comes across as strong. A tend to be a bit blunt. I just cannot go back to it anymore.

The image I posted was an inside joke + a meme reference, a bit too meta perhaps.

I'm not a HUGE retro Atari fan, but I still enjoy the platform and think it has merit. Sometimes it's nice to just play very simple games that you can totally zone out on.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

The point is that Xeogred really needs to go play Adventure. That is all.

Also, I do enjoy computer games from that era. Ultima I, Zork, Akalabeth, King's Quest...I mean, who doesn't love these?

Don't forget Secret Quest - the Atari Zelda.

There's a handful of decent pseudo-RPGs and dungeon crawlers on the system.

Computer games from that era are a completely different beast and I love them! Still trying to convince folks to play the old Perry Mason games which Pheonix Wright clearly ripped off.

I do play Ultima and Dragon Slayer for novelty every now and then.
========================================

Ok time to unleash a few.

Metroid Other M is enjoyable. Not the best in the series but not the worst. (ehem Hunters)

Shenmue 1 is better than II.

Castlevania IV is the best in the series and the SOTN and it's clones are vastly overrated. Good but not the greatest thing ever.

Lords of Shadow was good. Not played the second, don't plan to.

The Mortal Kombat 3D games were all bad until MK9.

I did not like Mario Galaxy.

Dragon Age Inquisition despite my 200 hours into it,is not a very good game. Enjoyable sometimes but not very good.

Ninja Gaiden III Razors Edge is very enjoyable. I will admit not nearly as good as NG2.

The Wonderful 101 is one of PG's best games

Chrono Cross is good.

I don't like FFVII (not saying it's bad) and feel FFIX is the best FF on PS1.

Saturn had just as good quality RPGs as PS1.

Jet Set Radio Future is a better game than JSR....minus the Birthday Cake song. Ugh.

Xenogears as much as I like it,the story is kinda rubbish.

Shadow of the Colossus has a great concept but terrible game play.

If ANYONE says anything bad about Saturn or Dreamcast. All their games will turn into Cyber Morph for Atari Jaguar. Where did you learn to fly?
