Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch

I have a mop. It is not a good melee weapon, but I wonder if it has any sort of secondary use. Has anyone come across a good use for one yet? (In the game, of course. I use a mop at my house with some frequency.)

I know the rake is pretty beast.

There's a rake too!!!! I will keep one in my inventory so that I deliver the death blow to Ganon with it.

So what does buying a house actually do? I got the opportunity, but aren't sure I want to waste all those rupees on it...

Is there an easy way to gather the wood you need too? Just cut down trees, or? I've not really done much logging since the start of the game.

I took on a guardian in the overworld for the first time tonight and won. Was a fun fight. I did use up a lot of my good weapons though :S. Back to stealing Boko clubs and hitting stuff with skeleton arms for a while whilst I restock.

Is there a way to cook multiple of the same recipe quickly? Cooking is clearly useful but it takes too damn long.

Anyhow, made it to Hateno Village for the first time today. Got to explore the coast a bit and then head over the mountains to continue exploring Lanayru.

Got 4 mains story quest lines and multiple sidequests running now. Prioritising is hard.

Anyone know a reliable way to light campfires in the rain? It's generally the only time I want to light a fire (so I can climb things again in the morning) but I can't get the wood to light because of the rain

For lighting fires, find a location that as an overhang. There are various rock formations with overhangs that you can safely make a fire in.

Rain is a bastard in all senses. Can't set fires (I had to pause a quest to collect blue fire because of the rain), can't climb shit.

I've found wood to be regularly collectable at stables; there's usually some lying around you can just take.

I stocked up on like 30 wood early on, haven't used them once yet though.

I found the buyable house as well the other day, I'll be curious to know what exactly you can do with it.

Wood is easy and free. Find tree. Set bomb. Explode bomb. Tree falls and you get a big trunk. Bomb that, you get I think 1-3 wood bundles from what I remember.

And rain is a PITA in every sense of it, especially if it's all sparky and you have anything metal. It had to run away from a stone talus fight just west of the castle because I was going to get crushed or electrocuted as it rolled in as I was busy.

Lightning storms are absolutely frightening. I was trying to get to the tower near the Lost Woods, fighting the bokoblin fortress there and in the middle of it a thunderstorm started. The only wood weapon I had was a wooden ladle. So I had to go in with a ladle and no shield, throwing my metal hammer at one of the big guys, bum rush a lizalfos with the ladle, charge a heavy attack and disarming him, grab his wood spear and take the gang out.

What a twist that took an easy challenge into something planned and executed in a fun and exciting way. Did I feel inconvenienced? When the storm began but when the dust settled and the rain had passed I looked back from atop the tower and said to myself, "This was a conquest."

I just learned that you can make things float with octoballoons.

This is the greatest discovery yet. I feel like big boss with all the shit I'm floating into the sky.

Shooting down explosive barrels you've octoballooned above bokoblins is wonderful.

Was hearing how someone during a thunderstorm snuck up on a moblin camp, set down some iron equipment by them and the lightning struck down killing the whole camp. lol

These Shrine Quests are incredible. Others have already spoken of a dragon and yeah... that was amazingly cool. Glad I had tons of arrows though haha.

I wonder how many Korok seeds there are? I was backtracking through some areas again and discovering even more and I've still only been in like 1/6th of the full map.

I'm still not quite sure how to make good elixers or what the elemental things (Chu Chu's) are for.
