My all time favorite goes to Majoras Mask for the intimacy of story and the very memorable characters. We all have our criteria as to what defines our favorites and that is absolutely acceptable but to say something is lacking in a field that so many people say is not is folly.

I am not saying Ocharina of time is the best. It isn't. For me, my top 2 favorites are Majoras Mask and Links Awakening and again, I am not saying they should be the be-all-end-all for people.
Yeah man, to each their own. It's what makes the world go 'round.

If I sound a little salty at times it's probably because I often feel like my favorite game series left me behind 20 years ago - and I'm only human, it sucks! :)

But A Link Between Worlds was a breath of fresh air for me and Breath of the Wild looks pretty cool too.

And there were things I liked about some of the later games in the series too, so maybe I shouldn't be so harsh. Hopefully, Nintendo will figure out how to take the best of both styles of Zelda games and put them together one of these days - they aren't mutually exclusive.

I am ultra burned out on open world games and think I heard the map is going to somehow be even bigger than Skyrim's? Egh... the new e-pen.

But yeah Zelda is the best so I'm optimistically cautious. Hopefully it's a good interpretation of Zelda 1 in 3D.

I can understand the open world burnout syndrome. For me it depends though. The Ubisoft style of open world can fuck right off. But I haven't found myself sick and tired of Skyrim since the day it was released. I mean, I don't play it every day or anything. But every now and then I like to fire it up and wander around, poke my head in a cave, smack a few bandits around, and call it a day.

Edit: Also, I pre-ordered my copy of Breath of the Wild this evening. I sincerely hope everyone enjoys it!

I hope it's enjoyable too, as I'm with xeo there that Link Between Worlds (open world) sucked and really hurt that game. This one though on Switch, it seems open but handled in a fairly different and perhaps non-grating way. It can't hurt to give it a try and with a limited library like any console launches with time will be there to explore a bit more. I figure worse case I can get rid of it and break even since I bought with amazon prime 20% discount in play. Could be a keeper or a faux rental. :)

Well obviously that ranking is not based on difficulty, 'cause Shining Force is a joke.

To rank the series I've played (based on enjoyment level):
Front Mission >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tactics Ogre > Final Fantasy Tactics > Shining Force > Fire Emblem
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Not at all. I was just sticking to the series Bone mentioned.

Dude I haven't even forgotten Onimusha Tactics. And I should have forgotten that as soon as I beat it.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
