CRTGamer I'm sorry but you're full of air. You keep mentioning that you want people to discuss with you, but when we bring up points about how horrible of a creature Trump is, you either avoid it or call our sources "not real news".

I'm all for debating with people who still support Trump, but when you have someone who is trying to convince you that something like "alternative facts" is worth taking seriously, and when you try to comfort him directly with irresistible proof that some of his statement are false, he just avoids the subject. Then how can you expect me to take him seriously? And how can we see his posts on this thread as anything more than spam and trying to drown out the real civil discussion?

Now that I think about it, why isn't Belgium and France in the ban list? I mean there were a lot of ISIS fighters recruited from those 2 countries. What about Israel? Technically till a 2 state solution is agreed on, all Palestinians are Israeli citizens right? There are Palestinian terrorists, so till you can make sure that it's safe then you should also block entrance for Israelis too, right?

Furthermore, I think we on the left have made the mistake of ignoring or disregarding opinions we don't like. Obama mentioned in his farewell address that the internet and social media allow us to isolate ourselves into bubbles. We need to learn from our mistakes if we hope to win future elections.

And really, I don't think Racketboy wants to be the place for questions like "Should we bring back Japanese interment camps?" or "Are gay people faking it?" even if it's a pressing political concern in the US.

Have you ever asked a gay person how they feel about your "conservative" viewpoints? Perhaps you'll find it enlightening.

Though I am conservative that does not make me against LGBT. Perhaps you took my comments wrong concerning the senator questions. I am against putting anyone above others; the inappropriate and accusing question asking if Cabinet Nominees support just a certain select group leans to the Liberal priority. The right question to ask if ALL groups are supported for hiring. The equal rights policy is already in; a non sequitur question catering to the LGBT just so the Democrat Congressman publicly claim they are for the group.

Do you honestly believe the Vice President of the United States supports such a despicable concept? Who said to bring back Internment camps? Perhaps take a better look at your news sources.

Finally the "America First" is not a Nazi term or White supremacy as some liberals claim. America First stands for all Americans as the President's priority, what do you want another country first over the United States Of America? A concept that at times has not happened with many past presidents. I know you are in Spain; your President priority one would be the same, your country first.

Perhaps you should ponder a bit more what Sam stated. We have a President not chosen by all, but all should want him to do the best for the nation. Every citizen has a right to question policy as well as a right to be open minded.

This thread is so toxic . Really both sides(referring to in general in the public, online, and in the media just to clarify ) come off as complete assholes half the time so it's a great age to be an American .

Time for a little rant .

Honestly the only thing that will fix this government is for the people to realize how shity the options are that get handed to us by the Democrat and Republican party. When you let the rich and elite choose the candidates from within their own ranks is it any freaking surprise we get results like this? As a nation we seem to love conflict so putting all our faith in two parties is easy since it's easier to pick a side when there are only two real choices, but really people need to realize this is a system we are forcing ourselves into. However let's put it bluntly an independent party even having a chance in hell would take an ungodly amount of work/money with the way country is at the moment. In all likelihood the only way the Republican and Democratic parties will ever release their stranglehold on this country is if there is a catastrophic failure and collapse of government at which point we would all most likely be fucked anyways. Hopefully this president will serve as a wake up call to everyone including the political leadership, citizens of this great country, and the global community as a whole given the insane amount of disruption it's causing both here in the U.S. and around the world. I pray we don't just brush it off as a temporary inconvenience in the long run as we further divide ourselves.

To be honest I wanted Trump to win this election. You know why because with him at least there will be change whether good or bad and it's forcing people to face the realities of the world we live in currently. To long have politicians babied the public delaying or avoiding hard choices as they cling to their positions. A shake up was needed and that is indeed what we are getting. With any hope people will wake the fuck up and come next election find someone who we as a nation can all stand behind.
