I've actually been looking at this site and considering giving one of their chips a go. RB's chips are perfect if you have a model 2 but for us less fortunate these seem like an alternative ... be it a tough to install, lots of soldering alternative.

It's possible I guess but that seems a lot of hard work. The person I bought this from was not much of a gamer or a techie, she was just trying to get rid of the Saturn without really knowing much about it.

Actually, I've heard of numerous occassions where a round-buttoned Saturn has a 64-pin chip.
That's why I always tell people to ask the seller to open up the machine and look inside to verify.
Yep, I think its just one of those things. Would be a bit cheeky to of asked her to open up the Saturn before I won it on eBay lol.
