So what have you guys been watching lately?

I agree with ya'll about spartacus. The first season is solid. Great acting, everybody does dirt that somehow intertwines leading to a finale from hell. The dude that played him and died was really, really good in that role. The prequel was also pretty dam good. The last season I stopped watching half way through, need to finish this. The new spartacus dude sucks and the story outside the ludus with them "free", just sort of loses the appeal

With seasons 3 and 4 things kind of suck the lead from season 2 pops back up and does a pretty good job but everyone else is kind of okay not great.

Was really hoping Manu Bennett the guy who played Crixus would kind of prop up the show for the last few seasons but the writing for his character just kind of went to shit. At least he went on to do a pretty good job as Slade on Arrow.

Edit:
I think another big reason the show kind of went down the toilet was departure of John Hannah. He really added quite a bit of flavor to the show and made for a great antagonist. His acting style just makes it so easy to love/hate him  .

It's pretty solid, I'd rate it 8/10. Way above average, but not in the tippity top tier.

Nice to hear that, as I planned to watch the prequel after the first season and call it done. I've got no interest in a replacement Spartacus. Andy died, they shoulda just let the show die with him.

Since my last update I've finished Seasons 2 and 3 of Magnum, P.I. About halfway through the fourth season now. The show is consistently amusing but doesn't take chances, it hits a plateau early on, but as least it doesn't fall off it.

Gannicus is a character that was just as good as andy's spartacus for the prequel . I'm probably bring a bit critical on liam, but that character just wasn't the same in attitude or physically.

That's definitely how I would recommend watching it. Most of the same cast is there since at that point they were just delaying till Whitfield got better so it's just about as good as the first season. It also fills in a lot of details which fleshes out most of the major characters.

But you'll have to watch the amazing Japanese intros on YouTube still.

Lately I've been watching Taboo, largely because I enjoy filth, corruption, and watching Tom Hardy stomp around like he could easily rip someone's skull out his face and use it to give the poor bastard a colonoscopy. If that's stuff you're into, well, then you might like Taboo. I can see some folks not enjoying it though.

Also, Hap & Leonard is coming back soon. Excellent...
