I just got a notification that Bubble Witch Saga 3 is out now. So funny that the first game of 2017 that I'm excited about is a free Puzzle Bobble clone.

Groove Coaster is really good so far. You can head to the store and pick up some 5 or so for free, and even without that I'm unlocking new tracks frequently. I think I already have nearly 20 tracks, which is already Ouendan / Elite Beat Agents quantity. All for free.

Consumables: haven't used any, but they've been showering for completing tracks and leveling up and so on, also get some from logging in daily (haven't created Taito ID yet, but considering it - still get the items). They are unnecessary unless you want you aren't quite good enough and want to get NO MISS. The only one I wish there was an infinite supply of (through an avatar for example) is the one that makes "Ad libs" visible. Ad libs are an interesting idea (they are invisible beats that don't penalize you for missing, but count towards your chain and score), but it kind of annoys the completionist in me that it is guess work to get tracks at Max Chain.

Anyway I'm not good enough at this genre to S++ (as if S wasn't enough, there is S+ and S++) all these tracks.

I played Bubble Witch Saga 3 and drank green tea all night. I either have a very bad cold, or have turned into my mom.

well this one flew under my radar; apparently Capcom has released Apollo Justice Ace Attorney for Android just about a month ago:

The artwork's been reworked for higher resolution, looks quite nice. I think I might go with this version once I get past AA3.

 Nice.

I think once Nintendo sees how massive their success is in the smartphone realm, they're not going to bother with a true 3DS successor.

^They did, it's the Switch. :) But I do get your point. They're ramping up on releases. Once they get out that mass appeal Animal Crossing game out it should get insane. If that in any way mirrors even the more basic approach the Gamecube or DS titles took over a decade ago they'd be making millions. Play it normal, have your fun, but then give people the option to use that ATM/cash register thing in the shop to rapidly buy your custom clothes, furniture, and other bs instantly using real world cash. That game would be the most perfect 'whale' bait app ever.

Fed up with your ranch style home, get a samurai one just for $4.99. Hate your hipster gear and want to look like Link, pay $4.99 or .99 per clothing piece if you already found some.

Eh I think Nintendo considers the Switch a console with portable benefits, moreso than a dedicated handheld replacement for the 3DS. I remember Nintendo directly saying the Switch is not meant as a successor to it: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/01/n ... e-the-3ds/

I think with the 3DS, Nintendo's doing a wait and see with its smartphone releases. No need to reinvent a dedicated portable platform, if they can make even more money selling games on other companies' existing ones.

I think Nintendo isn't wanting to discourage 3DS sales, just like they didn't announce the DS as the GBA's successor.

Though, I also think they're going to refine (or fragment) the Switch platform, since the launch setup seems a lot like that of the Xbox One and bundled Kinect.

What might wind up being interesting is how they're spinning a chunk of the online services to a mobile app instead of the Switch itself. If they actually have an account-based digital marketplace in the works, maybe it'll bleed over onto mobile devices.
