EDIT - Repost from yesterday
I did good (bottom of this Reply). Got up at 5am, prepped the stuffing and Stuffed Turkey in the by 6am. Ooh so much extra stuffing, a good breakfast.

I usually stick with five to ten dollar Cabernet. Sutter Home or Costco Kirkland good enough served at room temperature, to warm the chill (even in southern CA) of December.

Always love the smaller chains, only three restaurants local and one in Reno, Nevada!

Wife brought home three sandwiches that we shared with kids; Pork Belly, French Dip and melt in your mouth Dom Pastrami sandwich. The tangy cabbage with the tender meat a nice snap.

Now have a local sandwich shop that competes with the quality of famous Philippe’s in La!

Getting up early tomorrow, have a 25 pound Turkey to traditional bake overstuffed with Mrs Cubbison's Stuffing. A last minute run this morning to pick up a fresh crisp stalk of Celery from Alberstons and fresh out of oven hot oversized Pumpkin Pie from Costco. I will have a months worth Meat Group intake allowance covered in just two days, shooting for a high mark on my cholesterol count! :D

Grocery Store "Black Wednesday"
When shopping for groceries the day before Thanksgiving: GET IN GET OUT! I got lucky at both stores 7am at Alberstons and 930am (opened early) at Costco. The cashier at Costco mentioned good that I go there early for a fresh pie before sold out; customers don't swipe carts on this day, but they will jack your pie! :)

An older foodie picture, I do get carried away with the stuffing!

Maybe it's just the picture, but that turkey doesn't look very appetizing.

I feel good this morning. Usually I overstuff myself with extra and extra of food and I didn't do that this year.
Went to inlaws and had a small portion of everything except for the corn and carrots that were just in water.
Had a little slice of pumpkin pie. Smaller than a kids portion.
Later on went to parents and did the same thing. Little of everything. Turkey, squash, mashed potatoes, stuffing. And had a thin slice of apple pie.

I feel good today. Not bloated or overfill.

Maxam Pineapple Peeler/Corer/Slicer - $5.93

Okay here is something different, a neat stainless steel kitchen tool that is inexpensive and works! Canned pineapples are great, but a fresh pineapple has the extra bite. Anyone who has attempted cutting out the eyes, skinning, cutting and coring will love this so easy to use tool. Lop off the stalk twist in and pull.

Bought this on a whim and wow; count to ten and DONE! Sliced and cored!

Bought seven more to pass out as "Stocking Stuffers" for the Turkey Christmas feast, I think I'll first do a demo with a fresh pineapple; "It Slices and Dices, but wait there is more! The pineapple shell a great Pina Colada Mug!"

I really could have used that last Saturday when I made grilled pineapple. I like the idea of using the leftover pineapple hull as a piña colada mug. Time to see if I can find that thing on Amazon.

Shitty wine is shitty wine no matter where you buy it.
If it really was still $2 for that wine, it's not that bad. But last I checked it's like $6.
They're $3 here (and were $3 when I left SF, too). The cabernet is the only one I think is worth getting. The merlot is terrible, the whites are worse than forgettable, but the cabernet is a smooth if slightly sweet and entirely drinkable treat for $3.

I used to mystery shop them all the time. Like clock work once a month they wanted it checked. Reimbursed for the meal + $15-20 wasn't bad and the food was great as well :). Only thing I don't like about ours is they never clean up the drink area :P and last time I was in the syrup from their drink mixer had drawn a ton of nats to the machine which was disgusting.

Chicken BBQ on a baked potato with chives, mushrooms, and some cheddar.

Chicken was smoked on Apple and Hickory for 3 hours indirect at 325f. Potato was brushed with olive oil and dusted with pepper and cooked for about 2 hours at 350f. BBQ sauce was based on this recipe:

AKA had a party Saturday night and eating leftovers this week.

Five Guys is great, but it's overpriced for what you get IMO. Then again, the only place I've ever lived with a Five Guys had an AMAZING locally owned burger place right next door that was MUCH better and half the price, so that contrast might have clouded my opinion a bit.
