Holy jebus! You ain't kiddin. I just check and, damn, what a change. All my Vaporeons just shot up to the top of my standings. And my Gyrados just jumped up from around 1700CP to 2080CP. All the Exeggcutors went down slightly, and the other Eevee evolutions spiked up. Scyther got buffed up. My poor Fluffball just dropped like a rock, as did Vilplume and Wigglytuff. The only thing near the top of the standings that didn't change one iota looks to be Lapras.

To give you an idea, here's what I had on Friday-

Versus what I have now-

And I didn't transfer or power any of those guys up.

I don't know whether to be happy or miffed, honestly. I mean, I'm happy so many of them jumped up the rankings and all, but at the same time I did spend some of my precious stardust powering a couple of those guys up only to have them get knocked down, some of them significantly.

I'm a bit torn :?

I forgot to mention, any that you had in gyms during this time did not receive their new CPs. It is uncertain whether they change when they return to you. Chansey got a huge increase, Gyarados too. Lapras as far as I know remain unchanged. Exeggutor got a slight decrease. Pinsir went up pretty high. Jolteons too.

Wow the insanity, my highest one was a stand out in the 1600s, and it was my arcanine...it dropped nearly 100cp and into the 12th spot. I'm pleased to see that they fixed electric pokemon sucking pretty hard, my lowly crew of 3 (one of each hit) Jolteons are now in the 4, 5 and 7th spot (1779, 1756, and 1638) Vaporeon bumped up 2,3 and 8 (1940, 1909, 1627.) Snorlax is the #1 god of the list at 1980 (my other is 1228.) Gengar shot up surprisingly with 1624cp to #9 spot (other is 1283.) Gyarados moved up unto the #13 spot (arcanine in 12th) with 1531 and 1537cp respectively.

They seem to have slapped around the grass pokemon stuff as my victreebell dropped a bit, as did the vile plumes(2) I have too. Chancey was way buffed I saw on the list, went from 416 up to 931cp.

Overall I can't say I can complain much those I typically use more than not got some nice boosts, and a few were surprisingly grown up more.

I wonder what possessed them to destroy ditto, all the other cute pike colored ones too...and lapras stands alone untouched? Seems they really wanted to dumb down quite a few of old Gameboy era starter pokemon and their evolutions...charizard being the exception...barely, and the geodude tree went well up. I really wonder how they figured all these things out.

Most of the good stuff got better, and most of the stuff that's useful for killing them got worse.

The battling in this game is awful. As if I needed more reason to see Snorlax and Dragonite everywhere.

Also, all the already-powerful water types improved, whereas all the grass types that can deal with them got worse.

Fucking atrocious balancing going on.

The 3 Vaporeons I have that have been in gyms forever, are now above 2400CP! I don't think they're in the gyms with that CP, but one of them was at 2156 before the change.

Someone speculated a gym with 10 Chanseys that would be unstoppable because the battle timer would run out, ending the attempt.

So increase the Vaporeons, nerf the Grass types, but at least the Electrics with the exception of my Raichu are now up. I can still take them on with my fleet of Exeggutors, but it would just take more time.

Some better news, Niantic confirmed that Lucky Eggs will stack for the event starting tomorrow (4x the XP!), so consider using them for evolution sprees, hatching, AND your 7 day streak bonus! Level 27 here I come!

Even more news! Niantic is making stuff happen here, despite the CP "improvements"!

- Thanksgiving event is on NOW, so get to playing till next Wednesday!

- The new "tracker" tested in San Francisco has rolled out to more areas, notably:
United States of America: All states west of the Mississippi River (except Hawaii and Alaska)

Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the western half of Ontario.

Australia: All states and territories

- DITTO is now catchable! Reports are coming in as to where to get one, and how it performs in battle. This we know so far:
1) It has been found imitating the more common types so far (Pidgey/Rattata/Zubat), but you won't know if you get one until after you catch it! So you really "gotta catch 'em all!"
2) In battle, it will take the form of the first non-Ditto Pokémon it sees, moves and level will be matched, but it will have its original HP instead of that of the Pokémon it turns into. It does NOT match CP, rather it takes the CP of the copied Pokémon using Ditto's level and IVs. It will only turn into one Pokémon, so if you switch out or get defeated, it won't change.
3) As a buddy, it gets 3km for 1 candy.

So lots of good stuff to do this weekend, trainers. Anyone west of the Mississippi please let us know how the new tracker works!

I don't quite follow how ditto works, guess it's one of those things needed to be seen. I guess i"ll have to see "It will only turn into one Pokémon, so if you switch out or get defeated, it won't change." It reverts back to ditto after the fight doesn't it?

It will stay as the Pokémon it turned into until it's defeated. It won't go back to Ditto. From what I've seen, the CPs on it aren't that impressive to begin with, around 500 or less.

A good video showing the capture of one as well as a gym battle is here.

So it just changes once, solid until death or fight ends ,then reverts back to ditto until the next. I dig that, sounds nice. Ditto it into a snorlax, dragonite, or lapras and get to pounding. :)

I do like this new 7day rewards system where each day it adds like +100 to the dust and xp you get. It cashes out well after a week, and in this new boost period going it's double that.

Also again I really like how they finally de-stunk the electric pokemon making up for their non-speed variable carry over.
