Best TV, Monitor or Projector for retro gaming?

Post by Cronson »

Personally, I think 16:9 TV's aren't the best for retro gaming. There's something about a NES hooked up to an old school TV or Monitor that looks pixel perfect. What's your opinion? Is there a certain type of monitor/TV that looks the best with retro gaming?

For my 4-bit, 8-bit gaming I use a really old T.V, it has no coaxial, but has the VHF and UHF screws!
I just screw in an adapter and the games look beautiful! :D

For retro gaming, a traditional crt tv between 19"-27". For 16-bit and lower i recommend coax so that you get the appropriate blurring effects. 32bit you can use composite on those same type tv's.
I think the ration is 4:3

If you can get your hands on one you can't get much better than a rgb monitor.

Sony wegas always look great. Sure they weigh a million pounds....but they look fantastic for older games.
