Frustrating miss for me last night, a Pikachu in a spot where I normally wouldn't see one. Low CP too so after a couple of misses it ran away.

I bet that Gyarados had Bite/Twister; that's the only way a Bellsprout could have been victorious against it. I just came back from taking a well-known Mystic stronghold down from Level 7 to 3, and there was Gyarados with Bite/Twister. No match for one of my Exeggutors and the electric types! I left it in there with a Lapras and Snorlax, wasn't worth my time as Lapras is always a tough battle, even with the Ice/Water dualtype. But I will say I sent a Machoke in after that Lapras and it did defeat it! Of course that was after Magmar and my electric types softened it up a bit.

No more battles for me for the next day; I still have 6 gyms and I'm hoarding items for a brand new area on Saturday.

My kid was a good girl today at school so I rewarded her with pretzel bites...at the mall! I ended up snagging quite a few pokestops walking the length of it and back from where I intentionally put the car to do so. I got a good +100 items of various things I needed so I'm a bit better off. Also ended up snagging quite a few things and was capable of evolving a few too. I did end up getting burned thrice. Finally a Chancey wild, it ended up being low 100s CP and the 2 worst moves -- candy bait. Then got a pile of jigglypuff, so I made a wigglypuff and again, horrid CP level and the two worst moves. And the trifecta, the first charmander I have seen in months right at that magic corner into my street appeared in a mob of things. I pissed a good 10 balls between black and blue, a couple berries too, and the little turd ran for it. It had a decent CP rating too so it was no push over but still infuriating.

I did at least enough damage to do a half dozen evolutions of just random stuff and got myself to Lv24 when completed so that was cool at least.

So I went back to Replay Amusement Museum today, but not before playing this some more!

With all the items I've been stockpiling, I took out a Level 5 Mystic gym on the way there, with the highest Exeggutor I've ever seen at 2685CP. This lasted a few hours.
Image
Then before I went to the arcade, I saw a Level 6 Mystic gym at this park with a cool memorial obelisk.

Image
It wasn't much trouble to take it, BUT less than 2 minutes after I took it, someone from Instinct took it over! I let them have it for a few hours then took another gym across from the arcade on a fence-mural instead.
Image
After I finished there, I went back and took it back for Valor. It's still ours right now! It also seemed to be a home for Psyducks and Tentacools, so I grabbed many of them before I left.

Today's adventure: The Vaporeonic Wars!

So I went to collect my bonus this morning (by this time, Arcanine down south returned to me), and I only got 40 and not 50! I went to see which gym I lost overnight. I lost my original Vaporeon at one of the church gyms that I was at for over 3 weeks! I went over there to get the sitrep and found out that Valor already took it right back and it was at level 6. This was no simple grief, this was a complete takedown, I didn't recognize any of the Pokémon or any of the trainer names from the time when it was at Level 10. So I only had to train it twice at 1100 prestige both times and not only did I get it to Level 7...
Image
But this is the first time in any gym over Level 5 that I am the leader in. This is a pretty big deal because this is the deepest you can be and even if it gets a few levels lopped off it has to be completely taken down before I lose it! This rocks!

I also got a few other interesting things today -

1) My 4th Exeggutor coming from a 704 Exeggcute is over 2000CP and has Confusion/Psychic, making it great for a gym defender.

2) I finally got enough Vulpix candy to evolve it to a Ninetales, 855CP and Feint Attack/Fire Blast. Nice!

3) I also got my first 100% IV Pokémon, a Goldeen. Appraisal was absolutely perfect. All 15s across the board! Too bad when it evolves to a Seaking it will have no STAB moves, but I'm gonna hang on to it!

2 more pokémon ticked off the list. Not far from a full set now!

First of all, I found my first Grimer, finally. Really happy to have him, as he's the last unevolved pokémon I needed.

I also managed to get enough buddy candies to evolve Exeggcute into my first Exeggutor, so that's awesome too.

17 Left to go:
Venusaur
Charizard
Blastoise
Ninetales
Vileplume
Machamp
Alakazam
Muk
Farfetch'd
Lickitung
Chansey
Kangaskhan
Tauros
Kabutops
Omastar
Snorlax
Dragonite

Nice weekend. I leveled up to 26 and caught a slew of water-types. I also caught and hatched a Bulbasaur, giving me enough candies to evolve my Ivysaur, but I'm holding off all new evolutions until I have enough time to use a Lucky Egg.

Went to the beach this weekend and we stayed at the same hotel we did a couple weeks ago. One of my Pokemon was still at the gym I left it in. Mystic had come around and leveled it up to 10 and my guy was in the top 5. I'm hoping it'll stick around there for a little while.

The other strong Mystic gym nearby was level 8. I got bumped off the bottom of that one a few days ago, so I spent some time to build it up to lvl 9 and put my new 2163CP Exeggutor in there. He's near the top, so that's another one I'm hoping will stick it out for a couple more days. I also dropped a Vaporeon at another gym near there and as of right now, it's still there. But that gym seems to switch hands frequently, so I expect that one to come back to me long before the others.

Other than that, I've still got three more Pokemon in gyms near home, so for the last couple days I've had a good income of 60 coins per day. I shall enjoy it while it lasts.

Congrats on the ivysaur evolution!

My local park has turned into a huge bulbasaur den and I have enough to evolve one into a venusaur from catching alone! No walking or eggs necessary! This also gave me perfect pickings on what to evolve, with a high cp bulbasaur with attack and defense maxed out. Can't wait to pop a lucky egg, there are so many new evolutions waiting I am losing my mind!

Bulbasaur's have been popping up all over the place around here, too. They're much more frequent than they used to be.

And I feel you on the Lucky Egg. I've got about 7 new guys I can evolve and I'm really looking forward to it  (Including a Gyarados! I'm so excite!*)

HA! I know the feeling! My magikarp has crazy good stats and I am just dreading the moveset. Regardless, I am still going to use it. I mean... it IS a gyrados!

 Yup. I'm excited and terrified at the same time. I mean, it took four months to get to this point and if it ends up with Twister I'm not going to look forward to another four months of fish scavenging. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to throw his sorry scaly ass into a gym, either :P
