Thanks for taking the time, Tanooki. Appreciate it man. :)

Ok so I did a little digging of my own and I found this:
Also the 161/150 in 1 requires a unibios to work on a MV-1C as you have to disable the hardware test or you will get a Z80 error on boot-up.
That's the board I have- the MV-1C. Although mine is a bootleg.

So now I dunno. I guess I'll only find out when I eventually get my hands on that cart.

It shouldn't matter being a boot or not, if it's that style, you need the unibios.

It's cheap and solid work from razoola who made/supports it. You can even get future updates for 5 euro shipped as well if you like some future changes. I just haven't sold on ebay for over a month now so I don't have much in PP at the moment or I would and the decision came to get the NeoSave Masta first for all my carts.

That NeoBiosMasta looks pretty simple to do. Pity it's currently sold out.
It'd be ideal for my MV-1C.

Keep an eye on the NG forums, the creator is a daily poster there and has some threads going. He has them come in and out of stock and the announcements are there, also tech support and other assistance.

A few more MVS carts.

Can't get that Metal Slug game to work properly. I've opened it up, and judging from the scans of the boards I've found online, it's a legit cart.
I've cleaned it thoroughly, but no dice. It wont cooperate. Colors are distorted/washed out, you can't see your character (only the weapon used) and there is no sound.

So I'm hitting the thrift shops, pawn shops, and local auction sites quite regularly now.

A little earlier saw an add in one of our gumtree type sites. Guy is based in Cape Town, and specifies only pick-up, no shipping. I may be able to wear him down, though. :P

Listed at 150 ZAR each. That currently works out to about $10.50 per cart.

Nice MVS selection there, as for that dead MS1 cart I know people on NG forums do offer repair service if you find one to mail it out to if you can't handle (I know I can't) popping off chips and repair/replacing and re-flashing the data. Better deal than replacing it.

Found this stuff today using a 40% off coupon at half price. They were $24 and $48 with a more reasonable price on them. :) The Turok guide I snapped for a dollar, figured it maybe useful since I have the recent re-release on PC. Pokemon pinball in there was $10 also got a Toy Story GB game for my kid for $4 with that.

Mostly just happy to own the GBA games again, and now I have a 2nd micro so my really sweet one can be saved for home use only and the other while still quite very nice will be the heavier used travel system which is a relief.

I used a power up rewards coupon at GameStop today, and I got the Borderlands Triple Pack (PS3) for just over $12. It contains Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel,a nod all of the add-on content for all three games. I don't know when I'll get to them, but by my calculation, that price works out to $0.06 per hpur of gameplay.

The guy I bought it from has already sent the replacement game.
Same exact deal as previously. Seems the original Metal Slug does not like bootleg MVS boards. At least that's the case with mine.

Well guess it's no better than your average nes on a chip boot where a few games don't work or work right which is too bad. I'm not sure NG.com forums have an index of failed games for boots as who knows what else won't play nice.

Today I found a couple nice little things to go along with yesterday. As I said I went back and grabbed GBA pinball of the dead for 7.50. But I also found a shocking cool thing sticking out of the boardgame wall -- Milton Bradley Centipede. Most stunning, when I opened it up, it's new. 1/3 of the pieces are still attached to the tree, spinner never used, all the stickers/cardboard circle pieces are still on their original backings and it cost me $9 with tax half off. I plan to play this one with my little girl. I had it as a kid along with Pac-Man and Donkey Kong and they're uniquely pretty fun games.
