They're genuinely pretty nice, they also still have that community pricing/policing you don't see much on console leaning game sites too so they keep it well guarded in that respect as well. It's a solid resource.
It wasn't because you're sticking up for NG. It's because you're disrespecting a dead person, one who's fondly remembered on here and NG.

On topic, Thierry, that KOF 10th Anniversary is a bootleg. Bootlegs can have odd boards that may be too wide or have other inconsistencies. If you have anything you'd like to sell or trade, lmk. Also, if you decide to join NG, it's not a bad place at all. PM me if you have any questions before joining.

Well look, I see it has ruffled some feathers. I suppose I can see why. That said I feel the same still. The opinion was dated from 4 years plus ago and places change, a lot, and I am familiar with him as well. My experiences are current and it has been a mostly friendly and a helpful location and resource too so I wanted to share that as it applied to the neo geo MVS find conversation.

You're a condescending jerk, Tanooki. Way to apologize for your crass comments towards Breetai.

That wasn't an apology it was an explanation of what I was thinking. I get he was very loved by many, but it doesn't change places change over time and that opinion was at least 4 years old. I didn't want someone scared off a solid resource. That was my only point at all with this entire run of posts. If that makes me a jerk and or condescending, I can not help that.

There's a cart I'm meant to go pick up later this week that looks "dodgy" as well.

I'm thinking I'm probably going to be trimming the corners of the PCB's there as well? :P

SVC chaos plus = fake 100%

SVC chaos = legit

That site is a real gem when you have a chance to see the boards before buying. Often people pull ratty stickers as they never were treated well in arcades and storage so they get replaced. Boards though, even if a chip or two maybe off (repairs by SNK or local) if the majority of it lines up, especially the etched SNK emblem on the board, you're good.

Possibly. Bootleg quality differs. As long as you aren't paying more than $25 for a bootleg, you're doing fine. Older games like Fatal Fury 1 and Samurai Shodown 1 generally aren't bootlegged since they're not valuable and they were produced in high volume. One primary exception is Puzzle Bubble/Bust-A-Move. That game has many bootlegs, but also many in-house repairs, so it's hard to tell which it is.

Ok, good to know. Thanks.

I have a question wrt those MVS multicarts.

I may be able to source one of them on the cheap. I think it's the 161-in-1. Not sure, though.

Anything I need to know in terms of their functionality?
They'll work right off the bat or am I possibly going to run into any "incompatibility" issues?

I own it. It came in that bundle when I got my MVS, my only bootleg.

What happens is (2 slot cab for me here) is in either slot, it will be the first time to boot up. You then use the stick and A button to roll around and pick your poison, hit A and it boots into it like a normal game. Once you are in, do as you like, fed up? Hold 1P (Left player start) button for 3-5 seconds, it will reset back to your menu to pick another.

Issues: Aerofighters/Sonic Wings 3 is glitched, won't work correctly. Some games have audio issues where you may get a little static or the volume will slide up and down on you. There is a fix for this, I'm too chicken to attempt it as I don't have the 2 little parts to do it (just need to scrape the board in 2 spots to get the trace visible and solder in a bridge to fix it.) I think it was Last Blade 2, it can be touchy and might reset.

Other than that it is fine, and that SVC Chaos Plus game is already on there.

If you have a memory card or preferred the NeoSaveMasta (massive modern no battery memory card) while the 161 works, it blocks out the start button to choose another trick on a stock BIOS. I was told you still can get back to it if you have a UniBIOS which I still have not ordered.

All in all the game has 160 (159 stable) games on there worth thousands of dollars. Of that 97 are legit titles, the rest are hacks(almost all fighters/metal slug games.) Some heavy hitters are both on there, but some are missing. To get the most coverage one would want the 130in1, but that one has problems and an annoying daughter board which blocks multi-slot systems from using it right (but as you I think have a single slot it should be fine.) That one has the big hitters the 161 lacks like Twinkle Star Sprites, Sengoku 2, and others. See for yourself: http://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/MVS_Multicart
