Space is one of the things that made me re-evaluate my collection. Once you get to the point where stuff is going into storage instead of on display to enjoy it starts to feel more like hoarding.
That's not to say it is or that I'm judging anyone on how they collect it was just part of my own personal journey as a collector.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I officially filled my "handheld game" shelf tonight and only have room for around 20 or 30 more console games. Gonna need to get creative before too long.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I have also recently run out of shelf space. I have a lot of space available though. Just need to get another shelf.
Unfortunately it's going to have to go outside the game room, since my game room is tiny, but not much I can do about that

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I realized the same thing as well. I live in apartment and my large gaming shelf is running out of room. I can move it around, but that is only a temporary fix. I am very close to running out of room and storing it in cases.
Obviously, I don't want to do that. So, I need a new shelf. However, I don't have room for a shelf, so I need to find a larger place, preferably a house. I cannot afford a house, so that means me getting a new job as I don't like mine anyway and finding new employment has been proving rather difficult this year.
In the end, it all comes down to games as the catalyst.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
In the past couple years I've bounced back and forth between PCGamer's Top 100 list, and Metacritic's Best PC Games of All Time lists for inspiration of games to play/write about when I'm not sure what to play next. I tend to have trouble settling on one list or the other.
Here's the next 10 games I'd be playing on both lists:
PCG
1. MGSV Phantom Pain
2. Portal
3. Rocket League
4. Kerbal Space Program
5. DOTA 2
6. Deus Ex
7. Eve Online
8. Alien Isolation
9. Deus Ex Human Evolution
10. Minecraft
Meta
1. Half-Life
2. Baldur's Gate II
3. Portal 2
4. Command & Conquer
5. Civ II
6. Quake
7. Bioshock Infinite
8. Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion
9. Grim Fandango
10. Divinity Original Sin

I always took advantage of Leo's Workshop to get my Phalanxes up to Rifilemen rather than actually managing my military.Ack wrote:Rush Gunpowder.noiseredux wrote:5. Civ II

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I actually have a good amount of room for more (or larger) shelves in my man cave. The problem is, that's in the basement. The basement isn't finished, it's not temperature controlled. It gets hot and very humid in the summer, and dips below room temp in the winter. I've been keeping less and less down there because I'm getting more and more paranoid about condition. I'm not too worried about game carts, but I'm concerned with keeping CDs, tapes and floppy disks down there. The environment isn't so bad that I have to be worried about cardboard boxes getting moldy or anything like that, but I'm getting worried about data rot. Not too much with CD/DVDs, but definitely with tapes and floppy disks.Shelf space.

I can vouch for these. Of them, Portal is my favorite, but all of them are very solid.noiseredux wrote:2. Portal

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
HL and Portal I've both beaten and loved. (I just haven't written about them yet).
Grim Fandango... I didn't really like when we did it for TR. But I'm game to try it again w/ fresh eyes.
