It was a had to be there thing, I get where you're coming from but that woman was 100% out of bounds as there was no way to possibly interpret something wrong out of a simple situation she and many others saw. Kid was screaming and talking back, refused to sit and behave. More than enough verbal warnings. Got up, hand in hand, walked her outside, sat her on a ledge and told her it was timeout. She goes postal screaming and keeps getting up, and all you can do is pick them up and sit them back on the ledge. Somehow that became a beating and verbal abuse to that bimbo when the only one doing names and hitting was a toddler.
That's my beef, society is so damn stupid whipped and nanny stated up the ass kids can now walk all over parents and teachers in many states and get away with murder because the adults have to walk on wet tissue paper or they end up being monitored or worse by CPS, the police, etc. It's crap. I'm not saying we go back to taking a switch to some kids ass, but there needs to be a middle ground which doesn't include persecuting the adult. We keep seeing more and more cases of smart teens using the system to get control too which would never have happened just a decade ago.

Nah, I didn't mean to insinuate she had just cause to take issue at all. I know exactly where you are coming from, I'm just pointing out that due to actual abuse problems people have become more sensitive to the issue. It's a progressive movement that needs a lot of refinement in social etiquette and education about what is and what is not acceptable.

This is one of those cases where I would rather see undeserving folks hassled a little than let abused children go unnoticed, especially since none of the major individual rights are impinged by the inconvenience. Besides, if someone regularly misreports, they will find they get ignored.

I found a toy I have not had since around 1990~. Got it as a kid and my dad took it away or something I recall and stuffed it in the garage, which I found a few years later ruined by moisture (rotted out) which always pissed me off. Of all things to run into at the flea today just for $15 and included 4 new C cells with it.
Tomytronic Pac-Man in excellent shape. Blew my mind. Hard game too and odd as it's unique in that pac-man can only face and bite to the left so it makes it much harder to clear the map on it. It's a cool little LED game, yellow disc shaped so it kind of looks like pac-man. It has 2 orange knobs for on/off and ama(teur) and pro, then 4 white tic tac looking buttons to control the game. It's in excellent shape, clean battery compartment and the label on top and bottom are survivors too. I looked it up when I got home, did well, seems to still get $30-40 on ebay (which is why I always wanted to find one eventually and today was the day.) I'm still playing it here on the desk. Fun!

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
So I broke up a fight yesterday afternoon. It was actually the greatest moment of my entire (albeit short) career so far. I see the kids moving at more than three hours per mile, so I knew something was going down. I run out there (bulldozing a kid in the process, but his dumb ass should have gotten out of the way instead of standing there watching the fight) and see these two kids going at it. One kid (one of the ones who always helps break up the fights) is trying to grab the kid farther away from me, so I wrap my arm around the nearer kid's chest to try to pull him away. I don't know what happened - not sure if he was being dramatic on purpose or if I'm the Hulk or some shit - but when I got to pull the kid away, he just drops and slams into the ground. Like, I didn't intend to slam him into the ground, but that's sort of what ended up happening. I obviously helped him up and apologized, explaining that I only intended to pull him apart from the other kid, but I apparently became the most badass teacher in the school overnight. Part of me felt really bad, but I can't lie; it made part of me feel REALLY good.

It was EXACTLY like that. Then I put my foot on his chest, looked him in the eye, and said "Now stay down, bitch. That'll teach you to start fighting in my school."
