Wife bought me a SNES repro cart and I was happy to see it's made all out of original parts. No cart cannibalism. Works on the Retron 5 too! Only issue is that I can't open it. The screws are plastic and felt as if they'd strip if I continued to turn them. Not that I need to see the insides, it would just be kinda cool.

Man, I quit being interested in GTA V... but they have the biker update for the online portion now, and it looks so cool. It hits that itch I've always needed scratched, a good biker game...

Yeah, I reserved a larger investment chunk for Wasteland 3. The SEC filings for it shouldn't take nearly as long.

I was honestly really excited for it, until I saw the writing on the wall. :(

Wouldn't surprise me if the parts came from here: http://www.infiniteneslives.com/snessupplies.php. Might even want to make sure it's not one of those snap-open cases, could be you don't have to have a screwdriver at all. :)

I wouldn't mind doing my own SNES repro, but it's a little hard to justify with that SD2SNES. :)

Thanks for the link. That's exactly the casing. And yes, it does snap open. Glad I wasted five minutes fiddling with a pseudo-screw.

The game I got was Radical Dreamers. I have zero interest in the traditional Japanese-to-English fan-translation type of repro carts. The legit carts are cheaper and can be played in English on the Retron 5. But something like Radical Dreamers is emulation/repro cart only at this point. I'd also like to pick up BS Zelda somewhere down the road. Can't think of much else off the top of my head.

Any one feel like console wars have toned down a lot?

No one seems to care about console powers, games seem more of a service with hardly any exclusivity. I know Nintendo tried to differentiate themselves with unique input devices but it seems that didn't work with the Wii U.

I guess the line between PCs and consoles has finally blended.
