Nintendo 3DS
Re: Nintendo 3DS
Most Atlus games these days end up pricing down at some point, so I'll probably wait until it hits $20 before I pick it up. I still haven't finished the first one!
Re: Nintendo 3DS
I got my copy but haven't touched it yet. I want to beat 7th Dragon III before I pick up another RPG, especially another RPG on the same platform.

Haven't ordered it since I'm pretty sure my boyfriend will be getting it. I still haven't played the prequel yet, so even if he wasn't interested I probably would be waiting on it anyway haha.Exhuminator wrote:My copy of SMTIV: Apocalypse arrived today, which made me wonder; did anyone else here buy it other than me? If so, have you played Apocalypse yet... any thoughts?

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Alright cool. I'm glad to see some interest for the game here. I'm wondering if this will be the last USA 3DS release from Atlus. Unless we somehow miraculously get Etrian Odyssey V, this could be it. (I wouldn't be surprised to see Etrian Odyssey V held back and turned into an NX release for USA... who knows.)

I'd expect to see EO:V come over on the 3DS, though an NX release is not out of the question; if that were the case then I'd expect to see it after an announcement of an NX port for Japan.Exhuminator wrote:Alright cool. Re: Nintendo 3DS
I saw the box for this at a store and it said $49.99. Are they just being greedy or is this on some hugely oversized memory chip inside that little card to justify that price? I'm serious, just curious as it stood out like a sore thumb next to 2 fairly new $30 and $40 releases.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
It's the sequel/spin-off to a ridiculously successful games (which also sold for $50 new IIRC) plus the first print ones have three metal pins in them. I agree that $50 is steep for a handheld game, but SMT is one of the few series where I think it's absolutely worth the extra $10.

It's the Atlus Tax™.Tanooki wrote:I saw the box for this at a store and it said $49.99. Are they just being greedy
Considering Atlus is the only other company besides Nintendo making truly great 3DS games, I put up with it.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Hmm, I don't think 3 pins justifies it. The older release SMT4 at least for $50 came with the artbook/full strategy guide and CD all in one in that package. Given what guides cost now ($20+) this generation it seemed moderately fair. Atlus Tax fits, the 21st century version of the rapey Square Tax for the SNES of the 90s.

Exhum beat me to it. Atlus Tax, indeed.
