While Michi had a good day for Mystic, it was not a good day for Valor. I started out today with 3 gyms, including the Level 7 you saw yesterday. I was an hour too late on collecting my gym bonus, and it turns out I was only to get 20/1000. I went to Pokestumble and saw the flagpole gym was still Valor (?!) but I knew my Pokémon was right on the bottom. Then I saw the prestige number. It started at 10105 (Level 4) and now it's at 6605 (Level 3). The only thing that could have happened was either a Mystic or Instinct member fought through all 4 Pokémon in the gym for -3500 prestige, knocking the gym down 1 level, kicking my Pokémon out, and left. If they were able to beat the 2965 CP Dragonite that is the leader of the gym, why couldn't they finish the job? So I went out and did Mystic a solid by going to some of their stronger gyms down the road and taking a Pokémon out of theirs by knocking a Level 5 gym down a level to 4, which was a crappy idea because it cost me a lot of potions (I was fighting 2 Pokémon to get it down -1000 each time). Maybe being a jerk right back wasn't good karma after all.

About an hour ago the Level 7 gym completely fell to Instinct. So all I have is the untouched as of nearly 2 weeks level 6 gym with my best Flareon in the far off land out west, and less potions than where I started. I got the Plus device on now to see what else I can get.

Finally, watch for version 0.39.0 & 1.9.0 to roll out in the next few days with these fixes:

- Capture location: The location where a Pokémon was caught will now be displayed on their information screen.
- Pokémon GO Plus and Incense: Trainers can attempt to capture Pokémon they encounter from using Incense with the Pokémon GO Plus accessory.
- Minor bug fixes

That incense feature added to the Plus will make them more useful to me as items. I haven't used one in a while. The capture location feature also returns!

Well, have been finding a little more compromise with Go lately. Had a 3-gym haul yesterday, and today I managed to get the defender take for 2. Trying to decide how hard I want to try to get a space at the local library gym, that's been at level 8 or 9 Valor pretty consistently the past week. If I can put a high-cp tank there, I might be able to reap several days of bonuses, barring major change.

I was happy with capture location being gone as it would stall that screen until it loaded up the map feature to show it (grr.) I'd rather they fix their crappy poke-radar and put the little feet back in or some vague-ish arrow to where stuff is in the area which would help a lot.

I did an evolve on a high 600s eevee today which went up to a high 1600s vaporeon which was very helpful, knocked my arcanine off the top spot.

You sure will. But always keep traffic in mind too. I thought the Level 7 gym I put Slowbro in yesterday would stay for a little longer, but it's in a medium-high traffic location with another gym in the same area, and both of them are usually one color with the same trainers putting Pokémon in each gym. Again I believe the reason Flareon is staying in that gym I put it in nearly 2 weeks ago is because of its sort-of-remote location, not nearly as populated as the rest of the area and even though there are people living here, it's not conducive to walking or biking since its one lane each direction and heavily traveled due to the attractions and restaurants along it. Valor still owns all 5 gyms on this road and they are all Level 6 and up. A dangerous combination. Traffic levels at these locations I'd imagine are high but there's just not much interest to battle here, I guess, or perhaps a lot more Valor fans here.

Nice grab on that Vaporeon. Best of all, even if it doesn't have Hydro Pump, it's still useful because water is still a strong type here.

I just got 0.39.0 and the location info is not like the older version, it just shows the city/state/country now as text instead of the slow-loading map, which is a decent compromise.

Been playing and am eagerly awaiting my chance to pop a lucky egg. I have 6 pokemon that would evolve into new forms, including a geodude, pikachu, jigglypuff, krabby and more! I also finally caught a seel since those things are nowhere in my area.

I am at 300 candies for my magikarp. Sooooo close!

300, that's a lot more than me right now. Of course someone here just caught one in the wild, with bad moves.

2 gyms for me today. Instinct was at the flagpole with just a 2004CP Flareon. I immersed it in some water and left Slowbro there. 5 hours later, he's still quietly on guard by himself. It's just a matter of time now.

Drives me nuts, she still has that gym being held and gets all that daily dust. I was walking her phone around the block a moment ago because I spotted a pikachu (never ever pops in this area), poliwag, and what started me an abra across the street which has the amazing+wow best stats setup on it too. Found a bulbasaur around the block and a squirtle evaded me the entire time -- prick. I need one more for a wartortle.' The abra I got though I had the candy, got a kazam from it.

Nice. My Wartortle has low CP but is a surprisingly good battler for weak fire types. He has a water move called Aqua Jet that only a few Water types get. I'm keeping him for his great stats, and even though he'll be a low CP Blastoise eventually, they get good moves and I can always power it up. Kadabra's doing all right too but I got another good Abra with nice stats hanging around.

Here was the flagpole gym earlier with just my Slowbro. I love the night time cycle graphics in this game, but I don't really play this late at night to see it enough.

About an hour later, Instinct took it back over. *sigh* Such is life at this location. But 8 hours by itself in a high turnover area!

In other news, Mystic has much of my local gym route locked up. The methodist church has been Level 10 for days. The other 2 gyms are also level 5 and up. If my items weren't so low, I'd show them who's the far superior team, but my re-supplies haven't been all that good lately, more balls and berries than potions.

I went to the convention center today walked a bit got a candy, mainly went as half price books last year started the annual company wide drop of overstock items and I love going for dollar manga and whatever else shakes out. On the way there and there, nothing, but almost home I saw the shadow of nice stuff. First the victrebell, low ass 300something CP but amazing stats, then found a really piss poorly rated grimer so I erased that, same with a really super weak pikachu (candy!)

Damn game robbed me hard yesterday I was furious. I went after a beedrill after that last post, was in the 900s red as hell on any ball with candies. Bastard cost me 10 ultra balls and some reds then ran off...I threw the phone I was PISSED (it's in an otter case.) I'm hurting for supplies my ultra are 12 down from over 20 and my red are like 10 down from around 40. I need to roll through middle town that strip I noted with the dozen stops where I had that gym held for 2 days or walk the ball for its spots. I had an egg pop, lame krabby came out.

Am I alone on this, is it T-Mobile being awful, or what? You roll up on a pokestop, you tap, it's an empty circle and never works. Or it just spins and spins and says something like 'not right now' or whatever. This little spot of 3 near my place hasn't worked in 3-4 days, very infuriating.

I'm on MetroPCS, which uses the T-Mobile network. I don't think the errors you experience are limited to any sort of carrier. Empty Pokéstops with the missing pictures in the middle and no description usually have that dreaded spinning ball of death on the left, it's sometimes due to GPS being a little slow. When it says "Try Again Later", check your journal; it might be that you in fact did get it if you spun it while it was empty. That happens to me often, but I did in fact get the items it had.

After a good resupply morning (12 regular potions, 5 super, 2 hyper) I tried to get into some gyms. I dropped one off then ran to the flagpole gym which changed hands to all teams at least once overnight, and it had a spot left when I pulled up, then as I was about to drop one in, I got an "ERROR" and someone else got in before me. Not too happy about that, as that gym is still up and the other one I dropped in returned to Mystic. But I was able to get the bonus for today before that happened.

A recent issue that was fixed in 0.39.0/1.9.0 was an imbalance in IVs in correlation to a Pokémon's Pokédex entry number. It basically means that if you caught a Pokémon with a low number like Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, you were almost always going to get one with low IVs, especially on the ATK stat. A higher entry like Eevee at #133 was almost guaranteed perfect ATK of 15, which combined with the popularity of the Eev-olutions like Vaporeon and its dominating water type would make them that much more difficult to defeat in gyms. But they fixed that error, as pointed out by our friends at the Silph Research Group -

Finally, new update 0.39.1 is out now for Android, unsure if iOS is going to be 1.9.1 which fixes a couple of minor bugs including an issue I kept getting with the gym camera moving in very slowly at the start of a battle, making it harder to dodge since your Pokémon wasn't completely at the bottom half of the screen.
