BMF: I've seen that on the various Pokémon Go reddits, that app. I'll give it a go.
Ok, now to explain the appraisal. I'll use the Snorlax again.
Candela said "Overall, your Pokemon is a strong Pokemon. You should be proud!" so that indicates a perfection (IV) rating of 66.7%-80.0%.
Then she said "Its HP is its strongest feature." HP refers to the Stamina stat (STA).
Then she said "I'm just as impressed with its Attack" (ATK). That means the STA and ATK stats are the same number.
THEN she said "I'm blown away by its stats. WOW!" which indicates at least one perfect (15) stat, and since there were 2 stats that were the same number, by the "just as impressed" comment, ATK and STA are 15.
I can confirm this by using SilphRoad's IV calculator.
The CP is 1378 after I powered it up twice. STA is a perfect 15 and since I know ATK is also 15, the DEF is 7 (Here, ATK and DEF are a combined score out of 30.) The perfection (IV) rating is 76.3% on this Snorlax.
Remember to refer to this guide to what each team leader says and what it means.
I got my Vaporeon back this morning back too. Bummer. Only 9 Revives left. I hope to change that number the next 3-4 days.

Well from my memory of comments my Vaporeon, Flareon and Snorlax are near perfect from the comment examples something like that. I just wish they'd put a number to it like the real game.

I just evolved another Vileplume from a good Gloom. Good CP, around 1300. Moveset kind of meh, Acid/Moonblast, BUT Moonblast is nearly as good as Hyper Beam. I was really hoping for Solarbeam for the STAB bonus.

Wow I'm the one having to wake this up for once eh? I found a wussed out gym with 2 people squatting on it today -- took it down with the awesome power of the mighty vaporeon and then squatted my snorlax on it. I know he held it a few hours or so, but he's home now dead so time for a revive. Also (shame I egg'd it) saw my first magnemite and caught it, same can be said with no longer being taunted by the shadow of Pikachu so that's bagged. I got a ton of pidgey, raised up some serious XP today. Also caught and spotted 2 Onix sitting on top of each other at a location, both with totally crap CP levels (under and just a bit over 100 (137.) Wife spotted it actually, so we both got a pair.
I've just been re-supplying the past few days. This morning was great for potions and revives. I'm near my new 600 limit. After re-supply I went trolling around for weak gyms much like you did. Found one with a weak Nidoking and Snorlax, took them out, added Vaporeon. Found 2 Valor gyms with easy to train low CP entries, one of them being a Porygon. Added 1 each to them. At that point I decided to cash in on the triple bonus because the 2 gyms I just added don't stay one team for long. That was a smart decision, because by the time I got home, we lost those 2. Vaporeon lasted a few more hours before it fell.
Rest is miscellaneous, 553/600 since I used potions and revives today. One more re-supply day then I go out hopefully next week and find more permanent gyms.

I have returned from my trip to Colorado and can confirm that different geographical areas produce a different variety of Pokemon. Once I got to Denver, I'd barely left the terminal before 3 different fire Pokemon spawned around me. Colorado is apparently filled with more fire, rock, psychic and fighting Pokemon than Florida is. There's still the slew of Pidgey/Rattata's everywhere, and normal types were pretty common as well, but I encountered very few bug and grass types while I was up there.
New additions:
Pidgeot
Fearow
Vulpix
Golbat
Meowth
Persian
Machop
Machamp
Rapidash
Magnemite
Magneton
Voltorb
Cubone
Hitmonchan
Koffing
Rhyhorn
Tauros
Kabuto
and one Hitmonlee from a 10k egg hatch
With the exception of the Hitmonlee, all of those were new catches, not evolutions.
Some observations from my trip:
1. Vulpix, Koffing, Cubone and Golbat were pretty sparce, but did show up more than twice.
2. Kabuto and Machamp only showed up due to a Lure.
3. Magnemite and Magneton only showed up when I was in Downtown Denver, which makes sense, since they're supposed to be attracted to electricity.
4. Growlith and Ponyta were pretty uncommon, but common enough for me to gather enough candy to evolve both of them when I'm ready, with a little candy to spare.
5. Saw a couple wild Rapadash, but no Arcanine.
6. Meowth was much easier to find than he is down here in the swamp.
7. Plenty of Geodude's to be found, but not as many Rhyhorns.
8. The psychic types were plentiful, with Drowzee being a common sight.
9. The fighting types were pretty sporadic, with the exception of Mankey. Mankey was everywhere. I think I saw him more than I saw Pidgey. In fact, I probably did, since I caught enough to be able to evolve three of them, with some leftover candy to spare. If you need Mankey, travel to Colorado.
10. Near the Rocky Mountains I found several Clefairy. I couldn't catch all of them, but their sudden appearance so close to the mountains shows that clearly Niantic is paying close attention to Pokemon lore.
Here's some screenshots of my Pokemon journey (I'll post non-pokemon related photos in the Image thread once I'm finished going through all of them for those who are interested.)
Started out by becoming the Gym Leader at the airport. I was seated right next to the Gym, so it didn't take long. Vanilla lasted about 5 hours.
Got this achievement before I even left the airport.
I leveled up fast with all those new additions to the roster...
I threw Vanilla into several easy Gyms during the trip....
Went to a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater and temporarily took it over while waiting for the show to start.
Found a Lvl 7 Mystic Gym out in the middle of nowhere....
Stayed in Estes Park outside of Rocky Mountain
Took a picture to prove I was there
Took over a couple Gyms while I was there. The Visitor Center and Performance Park didn't last long, but the other lasted 42 hours. My longest stint, by far.
Leveled up again before coming home...
Was starving on the way home, so stopped to get something to eat. As I was leaving, I spotted a gym on the side of the road and tapped it out of curiosity. Was a Lvl 4 Gym. The first three Pokemon were pretty meh. But then I got to the leader and stopped. "Wait a minute....This guy looks familiar..."
Look who's haunting ground I stumbled upon. Tag, man. You're it
