Definitely go Strength and get that Claymore. Once I went STR there was no looking back on DEX in these games. lol

Well the key factor as I pointed out is that armor is basically pointless in Demon's, like Bloodborne. The Black Thief set has good resistance and gets the job done for anything you'd ever need.

So I'd argue you're really not doing yourself any good by using fat armor in Demon's.

Yeah, the only armor worth wearing in Demon's is the armor that provides status ailment protection, and only for said protection.

I found the guy that sells the Claymore, so I'll get that the next time I have 6K souls. My friend was also telling me there is a Zweihander in this game too? Maybe I should go for that?

Found Ed, who seems exactly the same as Boldwin, but scalier.

I stuck with the Claymore for my entire platinum run haha. I tend to favor the normal greatswords so you still have at least a little agility to your movements and stuff. The Zweihander is always awesome but kind of falls into the big heavyweights.

Whatever you prefer though!

The downside to the Claymore with its sheer size is its horizontal attacks can get really clunky in tight corridors with you accidentally hitting the walls, like 3-1 or something...

If you do 4-1 you can get the Butcher's Cleaver from the boss soul. That became my main weapon when I switched off spears.

Got to Armor Spider today! Got very close to bringing him down, but I did the typical (for me) thing in a Souls game where you think you can sneak in one more hit instead of healing and die instead. Oh well! Time for another boss run.

That's probably the one boss I kind of legit hate, since it's just... so annoying and almost impossible to not take tons of damage, lol.The next boss in that stage is one of the more infamous ones though.

Yeah, as a melee build, I don't know how you avoid the fire breath. Even if you're to the side he gets you and chances are you've gotten hit by webs, so you're not running anywhere.

I forgot about the webs... I'm frustrated just thinking about it!

But like some of the Demon's bosses, I guess spiderwall here stands out as something unique. Definitely nothing else quite like it ever again these haha.

I don't know if you can dodge the fire breath as melee; that's what that massive fire block on the purple shield is for. The speed run doesn't actually fight Armor Spider; there's a clip that gets you past him which also bugs out the Firelurker AI so he just sits there and dies.
