System approach, good idea. I guess I'll have to remove some systems (yes, I'm slow and young) but hey, still good!

NES - Super Mario Bros. (seriously)
SNES - Final Fantasy 6 (though I mostly played the PSX port I emulated it first)
N64 - Zelda: OOT (no contest!)
GameCube - Baten Kaitos (everything card-based is good. This is also awesome in every other way)
Genesis - Spider-Man: Ultimate Carnage (nostalgia!)
PS1 - Jade Cocoon (if you haven't played this, you really should)
PS2 - Virtua Fighter 4: EVO (tie between this and Tekken 5.. man I spent a LOT of time with this)
Xbox - Panzer Dragoon Orta (backwards compatible ftw!)
Xbox 360 - Lost Odyssey / Virtua Fighter 5
DS - Freshly Picked: Tingle's Rosy Rupee-land
GameBoy Color - Pokémon Silver
PC/MAC - Diablo II + LoD

really? i got bored half way through. I found that the randomness of the cards being dealt often left 1 or 2 teammates crippled for most of the round. I seemed to get like- full hands of healing spells or armor. It got frustrating by the middle of the game and bored by the end of the game. How is it strategy if it is all random? I much prefer Kingdom hearts chain of memories where you could stack the cards how you want to. I thought the system they set up was great.

I've yet to play KH: Chain of Memories but I'll def look into that! I kinda enjoyed the randomness of the cards for the most time. It made the game a liiittle bit harder and the guess-work of what you might get next (for straights, pairs and all that) makes it more poker than magic. I also enjoyed the way they used the cards throughout the rest of the game like items and such.. Guess it boils down to personal taste as usual

At least you got me interested in Chain of Memories now :D

ha! yeah- chain is a lot less random. I played it on the gba, so i don't know how the ps2 port looks or plays. It is the only other card game i played, and i loved it. I was hoping that BK was going to be the same kind of system, but was pretty dissapointed. I could never seem to think as fast as the game wanted me too to create pairs and straits too. Chain is also a lot more action based. No turns. So bad guys will be throwing cards at you the same time you are at them and the highest number will break the lower number ( I think, it has been a long time since i've played) so there is a bit of random luck to it, but if you find good enough cards you can stack your deck appropriately. Thankfully there arn't really enough good cards in the world so that you ALWAYS win. Still. fun game.

Damn... I think I'll be the only person to say Tetris.

I can sit there for hours playing Tetris. That was the first game I had for Gameboy, and I still play that cart when I don't have any other games to play.

Of course I have a ton of Tetris ports, like the one on the NES, Dreamcast, XBOX, XBLA, Wonderswan, Gameboy Color and the DS. But I would have to pick the original, since it was the most challenging since you didn't have the option of saving a piece for later.
I'm back!

And ofc no PAL release :'( I'm still not hot on getting a US PS2 or modding my own but it gets more tempting each day.. Here I'm trying to take pride in being a PAL-gamer but nooo

Oh god... I'm indecisive and I talk to much... this won't end well...

Arcade - Space Harrier
PC - Half-Life 2
Sega Master System - WonderBoy III: The Dragon's Trap
Sega Genesis - Sonic 3 & Knuckles
Super Nintendo - Super Metroid
Sega CD - Lunar 2: The Eternal Blue
Sega Saturn - NiGHTS into Dreams and Panzer Dragoon Saga... will never be able to decide.
Sony PlayStation - Final Fantasy VII
Nintendo 64 - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Sega Dreamcast - Jet Grind Radio and Shenmue II... will never be able to decide.

I largely stop caring about video games after that point, sans a handful of Gamecube games, Shadow of the Colossus, and the Dreamcast games that got released for the Xbox.

(Hugs Outrun, Half-Life, Morrowind, Phantasy Star, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Fantasy Zone 2, Psycho Fox, Phantasy Star IV, Gunstar Heroes, Ristar, ToeJam and Earl, Shinobi III, Streets of Rage 2, Comix Zone, Yoshi's Island, A Link to the Past, Final Fantasy III, Chrono Trigger, Popful Mail, Sonic CD, Ecco the Dolphin CD, Snatcher, Guardian Heroes, Astal, Burning Rangers, Fighters Megamix, Shining Force III, Xenogears, Metal Gear Solid, Super Mario 64, Kirby: The Crystal Shards, Soul Caliber, Sonic Adventure, Skies of Arcadia, Guilty Gear X, Ikaruga, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Cosmic Smash, Rez, Toy Commander, Crazy Taxi and yes, even Seaman in apology.)
