Original discs and system hardware...maybe? I tend to assume that most things from 7th gen and on will wind up being made available digitally if there's demand, if not rolled into HD collections or something.
Maybe it's just subjective, but it seems like there are also a lot more people deliberately collecting now, versus back in the late 90s or whatever. So, limited run as some things are, they're probably still moving more copies than niche games did back then.
Overall, I don't really think there'll be the same demand for it down the road.
Nintendo and good collections/digital ports? That's a bit too optimistic...
Haha... that's so true.
I was thinking that the hardware requirements (two screens and touch controls) might be the limiting factor... but Nintendo's own business acumen might be the bigger issue.

I agree. The Wii U is basically Sega Saturn: Part 2.
As expensive and expansive as Saturn's library? Nah never. Probably Gamecube Part 2 though, but with a much, much smaller library and nonexistent collectible imports so hey collecting for the system will be quite cheap and easy.
I think he was comparing it to the US Saturn only, which wasn't very expansive. Price wise Saturn games were really cheap for years after the system stopped production, even all the heavy hitters. Don't let today's prices fool you on the cost of US Saturn games before 2005. I mean even now not many command over $30. And those above $50 are few indeed maybe around 15 or so.
So far over 145 and counting Wii U physical US titles have been released. I think Saturn was a round 220 at the end of its life.

They've done more than Sega has for post-Genesis games (at least outside of Japan)
Plus, Nintendo has published the vast majority of Wii U titles that people are likely to really care about down the line. So if they did start cranking out better collections and stuff, the Wii U would be well covered.

Kirby's Dream Collection was great and so was Metroid Prime Trilogy. They don't do it often but when they do it usually turns out really good.
Elkin, you're right. Every console has been great, for me anyway.

Still not convinced I need it yet because I own the Wii version. How are the changes? Did you get the amiibo with it?
Graphically, the changes are VERY noticeable. Widescreen support and MUCH clearer picture quality (as is to be expected from a higher resolution and better quality cable). Other than that, it's up to personal preference; it does include both the original Gamecube version as well as the mirrored Wii version as Hero Mode, so you can play whichever one you're more comfortable with.
Would you rather stick with that VHS tape, or go with a DVD/BD?
I think Twilight Princess HD looked and played fantastically. Totally worth it to me. There are a few changes like the wallet sizes being increased, which is very nice. Hero Mode is available from the start so that's how I played it.
Didn't give a damn about the Wolf amiibo extra dungeon. But still, was worth it to me.
