I'm kind of wanting to talk about comic book games... probably that deserves its own thread though to not overtake this one, eh?

1. Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe
2. Fantastic Four Season One

^Just finished this. I liked it quite a bit. Basically it's a 2011 remake of the origin story - and there's a whole series of these Season One books that do the same. It tells the familiar story, but with all new art and in modern times so references are made to JJ Abrams, Mad Men and so on. The book concludes with (part of?) an issue from the 2009 run of FF so it's kind of a neat Now And Then kind book.

If you liked Fantastic Four, and if you happen to like Matt Fraction, try Future Foundation. Good stuff with a great sense of humor.

I mean I am a longtime FF fan from when I was a kid so already familiar. Never heard of that tho.

Future Foundation is when the Fantastic Four (also written by Fraction) go on an inter-dimensional trip, and Ant Man, She-Hulk, Medusa, and Johnny Storm's girlfriend are asked to fill in for the Fantastic Four taking care of all the talented kids the Fantastic Four had been educating in the Baxter Building (under the aegis of the Future Foundation).

It's a fun, funny set of issues. I didn't enjoy the partner Fantastic Four books than ran in parallel to it as much, though there are some good parts to that as well.

You know, you might want to consider a Marvel Unlimited subscription for your tablet.

This sounds really cool. Thanks!

I have considered. Truth be told, comics look amazing on my Shield tablet. But for now it seems like money I don't need to spend. I have a small stack of physical comics to read still, there's plenty of cheap stuff on Kindle and the Google Play store, and SB has graciously offered to lend me a few through Kindle - as such, I'm currently reading Batman Long Halloween. So until I get to a point where it makes sense to spend a monthly fee, I'm good for now. But it is a sweet deal.

I'm a big fan of She-Hulk, so the short Future Foundation run was an easy pick for me.

Today I found the first issue of X-men 2099 it's made on holo card stock. I used to have the first handful of issues for this series and I enjoyed them. I'm excited to read this issue again, of course there isn't any collection of 2099 books that I can find

I read Silk recently and enjoyed it. One of Marvel's relatively new characters. She's basically an Asian-American female Spiderman, but about 3-4 years younger. Only one vol. out so far in TPB format. I'll have to start reading the Spiderverse stuff to get more of her for now.

I'm just hitting Issue #5 (of 13) in Long Halloween. I needed to kick it up a notch, as I've got a week left on the lent copy.
