What was the last movie you've seen?

Part depends on which movies I happen to get a hold of first and how patient I can be. Haha. And like you guys mentioned that really Guardians can be watched whenever. And I can't really see myself binging a whole season of a show before I watch one movie. But this is a cool reference.
I think the main thing there is if you want to watch Agents of SHIELD. Otherwise, it probably just looking more at things that are somewhat related.
People watching the movies as they came out would have seen Iron Man first too, given that it predated the first Captain America movie by three years. Logically though, Howard Stark is in that movie, thus, seeing it before Iron Man might deepen ones appreciation. Plus, since that (and Agent Carter) are WW2 era, they definitely predate the events of all the other films so far.

Guardians, yeah, the only thing I can think of that actually ties into that movie from previous ones is the mid-credits scene from Thor: The Dark World, which technically happens before it. That'd earn it the spot on that chart, but from the standpoint of sitting down and enjoying the movie, it's unnecessary. It's just basically setting up Infinity War, which is a couple years away.

Far as movies I've watched recently...well, new to me:

X-Men: Apocalypse
I went with friends that were visiting over the holiday weekend, otherwise...I would have waited for the Blu-ray (I do that for most movies though). Kind of like First Class and Days of Future Past, its' a mixed bag. Felt like they tried to cram too much in, and forgot to flesh out half the characters or plot. Felt like it'd be even worse for those not somewhat familiar with the comics to fill in some of the gaps.

What We Do in the Shadows
A fun mockumentary about vampires sharing a house. Fairly obviously low budget, but it works nicely for the material. I'd recommend it.

First there was open world games burnout...

Now it's super hero movie burnout!

I'm so bored of this stuff. Stop it.

Had a double feature back on Sunday:

This was the first time I've seen Thor, and the second time I've seen The Avengers.

Both are great superhero films, but I wish my local library had ALL of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films that are on DVD (but I wish harder that they had them on Blu-Ray and that I had a Blu-Ray Player, preferably a PS4).

And today, I rewatched:

Saw this before (in fact, it was exactly a year ago in around two hours, if Facebook Memories is to be trusted). Still a great sci-fi film, almost like a Han Solo film, all the action of a Star Wars film with none of the philosophical or political elements and focusing exclusively on a charming rogue being a charming rogue as shit goes down in the biggest way possible all around him.

Also have Avengers: Age of Ultron, as well as a few other films I got from the library (Time Bandits, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Some Like it Hot, West Side Story, Hellboy 2). My library only has a 12-DVD limit, though I can honestly say that with their mostly limited selection. Now, if the New York Public Library has a similar limit I may run into the wall more frequently.

Thank you. I wanted to say the same thing, but I didn't want to get lynched.

I'll say this much though, I would watch a movie about Nightcrawler. As in, it's all about Nightcrawler. He was the only X-Men mutant I ever thought was cool.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.

Watched The Revenant tonight and it just wasn't really my cup of tea. Story was really drawn out and had dozens of shitty dream sequences(why the hell are those getting so popular :P). Honestly I don't know why people were so hyped about it. It just didn't do anything that hadn't been done 100x better by previous westerns.

That seems like a really high limit. Around here I think it's down to 1 it's been forever since I borrowed something from the library though. Around here it's like every other DVD they lend ends up in a pawnshop same goes for CDs.

Many public libraries start sending large fines and especially billed/lost items to a collections service. Pawn off that library DVD for $2 someplace and you'll have a collections agent calling you for the next couple years to make you pay $20. Just not worth it.

I didn't say the people around here were geniuses :P. We have a pretty large Detroit drug problem in the city and a "healthy" population of meth/crack heads willing to throw their lives down the toilet for a fix.

Because the Hollywood hype machine conditioned people to like anything they promote? But to be fair, it's an enjoyable movie. Not a masterpiece, mind.

Ah yes, more puerile Sacha Baron Cohen "comedy". Terrible.

Better than the first Avengers film, but too damn long! When did two hours become the norm for major Hollywood films?

The County library in my location does not have a limit on checkouts and no rental charge. The library has an online reserve, really a convenient system. I can browse movies, music, books and reserve from over 30 branches. It goes into a Que, I get an Email when the item is delivered to my local branch. Brand new movies reserve usually have a wait period, but the library also puts out extra copies for non reserve with a one week limit checkout on the new releases. Love the County library online; search by release date, genre, director, etc and then when picking up discovering a new movie or three on the shelf. :D
