Jessica Jones is quite good. The Netflix series in general are a fairly big shift in tone away from the MCU, and so far have largely been their own thing. They're darker and more character focused. You could pretty well watch them anytime, since while the events of the films are referenced, it's more in the sense of creating the environment - general public aware of superpowers, parts of major cities destroyed, etc.

The flip side is Agents of SHIELD, which plays directly off of events in some of the movies. I wouldn't start watching that (if you're even interested) before working up to the Avengers, and then watching Winter Soldier at the appropriate point in the series, etc.

Yeah I was talking about the Netflix originals as well as AoS which is ABC or NBC(can't remember :P). Honestly Agents of Shield is the only one that intersects directly with the Movies frequently though the others reference them but usually in passing. Really the Netflix shows just occasionally drop a line about the alien invasion in Newyork or they will vaguely mention a hero I don't think they ever come right and out say their names though it's just like "oh yeah the green guy" :P. Jessica Jones and Daredevil do have characters that cross over between the two shows which makes sense since they are based in the same location. Season 2 of Daredevil also features Elektra and the Punisher.

Really hope they end up doing a standalone series around the punisher I think there were rumors that it's happening but I haven't heard much about it.

Also forgot about Agent Carter until just now since I never watched it. I'm not sure if it's up for streaming anywhere at the moment.

Oh and another Marvel movie with a lot of humor is Ant Man I don't think anyone mentioned it yet. Although if you aren't into Paul Rudd you probably won't like it. It's also more of a heist movie and the danger is on a much smaller scale then any other Marvel movie. Antman also has a pretty fun part in Captain America: Civil War.

I love Paul Rudd, actually. Though Ant-Man is a character I'm really not familiar with.

Knowing anything about the character is unimportant.

Saw Money Monster yesterday and it was a pretty solid hostage/action movie. It's very straight forward and predictable but the characters play off each other really well and it is entertaining to watch.

@Noise
Yeah you don't really need to know anything going into the movie they lay it all out for you really well. The movie also has a great cast as well as Rudd there is Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Peña, and quite a few others.

I would recommend watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier first though because there is one scene that is pure gold featuring a character from that film and without prior knowledge of him it's probably not as great a scene.

I thought Iron Man was pretty fantastic. Really enjoyed it, and look forward to the sequels. I also LOVE that they used a Ghostface Killah song in the movie. For those that aren't aware, his debut album was called Ironman and when Wu did their "Gambino" phase where they all had aliases, he went by "Toney Starks" and later had an album called The Pretty Toney Album. So that was a cool touch.

Piranha 3D is ridiculous over the top violent fun. Aja's script is straight B-movie and it is basically 90 minutes of spring break kids getting slaughtered. So much porn stars and bloody water. Also, Eli Roth's cameo is his usual douche dude hilarity.

for those of you following my progress getting back into Marvel stuff 20 years later, I was out shopping w/ my wife today and hit up a movie store while she was trying stuff on. They had a B2G1 on used DVD's, so I grabbed the first Avengers and Guardians Of The Galaxy for $15 total.

Also per previous suggestions, I've added Jessica Jones and Agents Of SHIELD to my Netflix queue.

I never really got into the Agents of Shield I tried watching it but got bored I think 5-6 episodes in. Daredevil and Jessica Jones on the other hand were great and I binged them both over the coarse of 2-3 days after they came out.
