-I don’t know if it’s a huge deal around these parts, but I genuinely just don’t care about Halo, Gears of War, and many of the other tough manly men series that clog up the 360. Played some of both, neither is bad, but neither could hold my interest.
-Even though I was a few years too old for the Pokemon craze, I still enjoyed the games quite a lot. I haven’t played it in ages and I’m sure the battery is dead by now, but I hold Pokemon Silver as one of my favorite games.
-I have not played many of the so-called “Best Games Ever” that so many people tout. I haven’t been active in buying for the “current” console generation since the Genesis/SNES days, occasionally buying a game here and there but mostly just playing my younger brother’s stuff. I have a PS2, NES, SNES, Genesis and DS. He has a Wii, 360, Xbox, N64, PS1, and used to have a PS2 and GBA.
-There are several games in my collection I’ve had for years and never beaten. I’ve had Zelda 64, Mario 64 and Majora’s Mask for nearly a decade and haven’t beaten any of them.
-Though I consider myself to be “above” petty envy, I’m still pretty P.O’d that my younger bro got copies of Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario World for $1.50 each at a garage sale and Ogre Battle 64 for free.
-While I find Marvel vs Capcom 2 is perfectly fun, it’s a tad too “frantic” for my tastes. And the default music sucks.
-I tend to play a fair number of fighting games, even though I suck at them (mostly because I can’t be bothered to memorize combos and advanced techniques)
-I've spent far more time then what would be considered reasonable thinking about how cool a set of action figures based on the MedEvil series for the PS1, going so far as to to make a list of what could be included in such a production.
-One of my favorite games is Fire Pro Wrestling Returns for the PS2… but honestly I spend more time tweaking cpu logic and making edits/wrestlers then actually playing it. I’m actually a part of an FPR-based E-Fed, and my edit was the Champion of it up until recently.

I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

Re: True Gaming Confessions
1. Despite loving the games, I can't finish a Zelda game. I always give up out of frustration.
2. I bought a Wii becuase the 20GB PS3 was discontinued (what I was planning on buying) 2 years later I have a 20GB PS3 and a barely used Wii.
3. The only game related music I own is the Propeller Arena Soundtrack and the Segata Sanshiro theme song.
4. My PS2 is used for Atlus games only.
5. My main gaming TV is....9 inches.
6. I'm still waiting for the next official Dreamcast game.

Re: True Gaming Confessions
I have never and probably will never finish any of the final fantasy games.
The only mario games ive beaten are Mario 64 and 6 golden coins for gameboy.
I own games for systems that I do not own.
I had never played a SNES until about 3 months ago.
I regularly get bored with games and just stop playing them, most recently with chrono trigger.
There are numerous games that I buy thinking I can make myself enjoy despite knowing that I hate whatever genre the game is in. (Disgaea -> looks so fucking cool but SRPGs piss me off)
I currently spend more time reading about games and hardware than playing them, a ratio of about 10:1.

I think this is something that needs fixing quick! Tell me that you at least use your PC's monitor or something.nick944 wrote: 5. My main gaming TV is....9 inches.

I confess that I like changing the backups tapes in our server room because the tapes remind me of game carts..

- I enjoyed the Metal Gear Solid VR Missions more than the actual game. Twin Snakes may change that though.
- I have played almost every Pokemon game through to a full pokedex for that version. It is somewhat mindless yes, but it is oddly soothing and pacifying.
- I continue to purchase games with the intent of playing them with others in the future, only for that event to never happen. Partially because people do not want to learn a new game every time.
- I will toss a game if the need is right. To the extent I tossed a tournament with money on the line so this kid who had a hard first game and lost, heckled by his friends, he came back on the losers bracket to make it to the final two. I gave it to him, and he knew it, but he used it to gloat to his friends. Later we discovered that our fathers worked together almost a decade ago and I still keep in touch with him now when he is in college. Kinda funny to think about it that way. And no, I will not toss the game for my girlfriend, she would kill me if I did.
- I camped out for Zelda OOT, Perfect Dark, the Gamecube, Windwaker, and the Wii.
And to get into another form of gaming:
- I have made a DM leave the room and pace for five minutes before coming back in to figure out how he can keep the game going without killing my character outright.
- I own several hundred miniatures for different games - and I have painted atleast half (I think).
- I pissed off a manger at an old job because he told me we were going to role play and I went and got some dice out of my car.
- I have carried a deck of cards in my back pocket for almost 10 years - it started with when I use to backpack/hike.

I do use my 19 inch widescreen moniter for my PS3. It really is impossible to play on a 9 inch CRT TV.Jayson wrote:I think this is something that needs fixing quick! Tell me that you at least use your PC's monitor or something.nick944 wrote: 5. My main gaming TV is....9 inches.

Hey now, if his main gaming rig is a Vectrex then it makes sense that it's 9 inches.Jayson wrote:I think this is something that needs fixing quick! Tell me that you at least use your PC's monitor or something.nick944 wrote: 5. My main gaming TV is....9 inches.
