I had SFA2 on SNES back when it released, it was legit amazing and crazy impressive.

I've kept it all these years. I never got it new well exactly. Super Mario 64 was out so yeah at $60 it wasn't worth it to me.
I found out around a year after that NOA sold video games direct which they didn't advertise. All the overstock and open box returns got sent to them so they were selling new "refurb" copies of the game without the box, but with a dust sleeve and manual for I think it was $15 or $20 so I snapped it up. Alpha2 is the only Alpha I really loved a lot (1 is ok, dislike 3 a lot, way too bloated.)
I still pull it out now and again. I've got the PC(PSXport) on GoG bookmarked, but I keep reading how it's basically unusable since it hates modern game pads so I never sprung on it.

Agreed. The game blew my mind when it was first released. I could not believe that the SNES could handle it.Exhuminator wrote:I had SFA2 on SNES back when it released, it was legit amazing and crazy impressive.

An X-Men vs. Street Fighter port could've been possible... *sobs*prfsnl_gmr wrote:Agreed. The game blew my mind when it was first released. I could not believe that the SNES could handle it.Exhuminator wrote:I had SFA2 on SNES back when it released, it was legit amazing and crazy impressive.

No. Too dangerous. If I had seen that game running on my SNES, my head would have exploded.SNESdrunk wrote:An X-Men vs. Street Fighter port could've been possible... *sobs*

back in high school there was like 1 shop that had only 1 copy of SFA2 for SNES and it was twice the price of regular SNES games. i wanted it so bad...
i always told myself that time, if i had that game, i would probably never had thought of wanting a PS1. ahh well more than 5 years later i was given a PS1 as a gift
decades later, i have finally acquired SFA2 for snes for even less than half the orig price
i guess moral lesson is .. waiting pays off ?

Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
Does anyone happen to know if the Super Famicom Memory Cassettes will work properly on a Retron 5? I don't see why they wouldn't, but I wasn't sure if anyone had actually tried. I've decided that I'll probably forego the pricey retail copy of Thracia 776 in lieu of a cheaper memory cassette copy if it will work on my Retron 5 with the translation patch.

If you can't get an answer here, I would suggest asking on the NES Dev forums. Some where there might own both devices.

I know the Retron 5 can have issues with games that aren't actual retail carts. You really wanna make sure before taking the plunge.
