I've enjoyed every track thus far! This might be premature but this stands up there with Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 for best snes rpgs to me. Although I'm rather limited on snes rpgs I've actually played.

SNES gets a lot of love for RPGs, but if you get beyond the well known Square/Squaresoft/Enix stuff, it gets kind of sketchy and very hit and miss based on design/personal taste but Natsume (Lufia) and HAL(Arcana) have some decent offerings, but there's a lot of really passable or worse drek too. Your statement I imagine stands pretty firm even if you're not so certain.

How about Capcom? I imagine they did more than Breath of Fire. Though, even those first two aren't that great to me...

Remember, Enix was more of a publisher of JRPGs on SNES. The Enix umbrella covers a huge range of RPGs and diversity of style. Almanic, Produce, Quest, Quintet, TamTam, Tri-Ace and others were all responsible for "Enix games."

Everyone just know that Quintet were the best!

What all did Tri-Ace do on the SNES?

It's actually spelled "try-Ace" on the back of the box.

Was hoping you'd mention something beyond the obvious.

I really should play more of Star Ocean 1 though, love the high end SNES graphics. Reminds me of Tales of Phantasia and Seiken Densetsu 3 somewhat.

So SNES collecting opinion question. I'm going for all three of the original Japanese releases for the SNES Fire Emblem games. I've got Mystery of the Fire Emblem and Genealogy of the Holy War, but Thracia 776 is giving me pause. The SF memory cassettes are much cheaper, but the collector in me wants the MUCH more expensive retail release. Looking at eBay right now, I could get the memory cassette for $50 or a little less, but the retail release would probably cost me $150 (not that I plan to buy either for a few months since I'm dead broke).

I don't know what I should do. Rationally, I know I should get the memory cassette since it's cheaper and I'll probably only play it once every few years. Game collecting is not a rational hobby, though, thus my hesitation. :?

The name is familiar, but what have Quintet done? The name is SO familiar is driving me crazy.

With how cool and different their games tend to be (from Act Raiser to RoboTrek), I just wish more Enix-published games came out here in the West :(

What are you planning to play the game on?

If it's the Retron5 or similar I'm not 100% sure the SF memory carts work on the console. I'd also be worried about erasing them.

$150 seems a little high though, unless the price has jumped a lot since I last looked a few months ago. About £70 or so seemed to be the going rate (at least cart only) when I looked - roughly $110 or so.
