Steam's fine as long as you recognize what it is. Which is why some don't like it, and I totally get it. I've passed on quite a number of Steam deals because I'd rather have them through DRM-free means like GOG or Humble (although Humble isn't always DRM-free).

If only I could buy Wind Waker through Steam my life would be complete.

I *think* you're being sarcastic, but I agree anyway. In the sense that I think Nintendo would make even more money if they'd stop caring so much about hardware. There was a time that none of us could imagine Sega getting out of the hardware biz. Now I own many many Sega games on Steam. If Nintendo released PC games, I'd probably still buy and play Nintendo games.Exhuminator wrote:If only I could buy Wind Waker through Steam my life would be complete.
I buy from Steam, GOG, Humble, Indie Gala, Origin, or wherever offers me the best deal the day I want to play a game. If all prices are the same, I tend to go with Steam for new games and GOG for (good) old games. Also if I know a game is heavily multiplayer focused then I'll choose Steam as well. I like Steam's UI, friends list, and ease of multiplayer more than the other services.Sarge wrote:Steam's fine as long as you recognize what it is. Does anyone have Irem Arcade Hits? I've been eyeing it but it's available on digital services I'm not familiar with.

I have been eyeing it for years. Always baffled that R-Type wasn't included.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Does anyone have Irem Arcade Hits? I've been eyeing it but it's available on digital services I'm not familiar with.
If you're talking about DotEmu, go for it. They're legit.

Oh, I know Exhuminator's being sarcastic.
I think he referred to Wind Waker as "Wind Wanker" in a prior post.
I had some issues with those DotEmu games and getting my 360 pad to work well with it. Probably using DInput instead of XInput, and it refused to let me use something like JoyToKey to make up for it.

DotEmu's mobile version of R-TYPE II is free on Amazon's appstore (Underground), I played that even before I picked up the first game this month, and since Super R-Type steals so much from that, I did pretty decent.noiseredux wrote:I have been eyeing it for years.
