Sadly, all I have for now is A/V. All my cables either output AV or, in the Mega Drive's case, RF. I need to spend quite a bit of cash on a SCART Switch and cables

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
So, I connected my professional monitor for the first time and...damn, even though I've only tried my NES through A/V so far I'm actually pretty impressed by the difference. It's significantly less "fuzzy" than I remember it to be and the blacks are much better.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Blegh, I'm trying to get the last 3 multiplayer trophies on Red Dead Redemption in what little free time I have, and it is an absolute nightmare with how hacked up the servers are nowadays. I just wanted to be set up to where I can plat RDR, seeing as it is one of my favorite games ever, and having that would just be a sweet moment for me.
EDIT:...and, miraculous pull off of those last three trophies for multiplayer. Finish up this and Max Payne 3, then on to Dragon's Dogma!

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I never thought scanlines and other minor details like that would be very important but after staring at my screen for like 15 minutes I must say I can't imagine ever going back.
And this is all through A/V, I think I'm going to be amazed when I get my Wii composite cables tomorrow and I can start playing games in 240p RGB.

Thanks for mentioning this. I got on the mailing list. I really like art books but they're usually of the super hero variety. This is a great idea.Fragems wrote:This is the first time I've been tempted to preorder a book.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Atari art was always the best.
Remember how the Intellivision and ColecoVision used covers that were literally photos of arcade cabs for the arcade ports? lol

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
That was just Coleco's marketing at the time. Their small tabletop arcade games and even their Colecovision arcade ports always had "The Official" label somewhere on them. As if the ports they made for the 2600 and Intellivision were "un-official?"BoneSnapDeez wrote:Atari art was always the best.

Coleco's selling point was that their arcade ports were just better. And they absolutely were. But they still lost the war (obviously)ExedExes wrote:That was just Coleco's marketing at the time. Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
