Its a tie between 6 and 8 for me, but I loved the characters in 8.jfrost wrote:About FF7 fandom: I'm under the impression that every person who says FF7 is the best RPG ever played it as their first RPG.
Confession-wise: Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite game in the series.

I was just going to suggest that. Except for MC the last zelda that had me hooked enough to play through was ocarina of time (even though it didn't hook you guys apparently). I've been less and less of a fan of zelda since. Minish cap was a diamond in a rough of coal that looks like diamonds. I guess thats a confession of mine? I haven't been super enthused about zelda since 1998. Kind rough for a guy who has the sword and boomerang tattooed on his arms.
Agreed. I find that i'm a good few years older than the people who scream the loudest about FF7. I didn't see what the big deal was, still don't. For me the last true hardcore RPG (none of this actiony rpg stuff like mass effect) that i really loved was probably chrono trigger. Which is really sad for the genre. It isn't that I'm not open to it, just nothing has struck me as a great game. Just a slew of 'boring' to 'alright' games. I get about halfway through and usually lose interest.jfrost wrote:About FF7 fandom: I'm under the impression that every person who says FF7 is the best RPG ever played it as their first RPG.

Do you consider Morrowind an action RPG or more hardcore? I remember really enjoying it, but the expansion that added the northern Nord island absolutely enthralled me. I'd start a new character, get to level 10, and wander my way up there because I just loved everything about the way the world looked.

every level that shows up as a red dot on the map (as opposed to yellow) has more than one way out. find the other ways out and you'll get through.Jrecee wrote:I can't figure out how to get out of the forest of illusion in mario world. . .

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

RE: Final Fantasy games... I think IX is the last amazing one, because it LOOKED like a beautiful version of I or II. But after that I can't get into X or anything so much because of all the super long ass cut scenes. It's like watching a movie most of the time.

i've never played morrowind. It is on the pile of stuff i have yet to crack. I hear it is good though.Ack wrote:Do you consider Morrowind an action RPG or more hardcore? Speaking of Final Fantasy, I really hated 12.
