Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
before Hearthstone I didn't think I'd get hooked on an online competitive card game. I had no prior interest in MTG/etc. Spent many, many hours on Hearthstone, though.
The idea of a MOBA always sounded awful to me. I've now played 300+ rounds of Heroes Of The Storm. I have no intention of slowing down my pace either.
At this point I just trust that what Blizzard makes is fun games. Genre doesn't even matter.
EDIT: As an aside, I find that I'm often interested in genres outside of my comfort zone as long as it sounds like it's going to be a solid experience. I had no interest in city-building, but found the praise for Cities Skylines hard to ignore. I ended up adoring that game. I have my eye on Stardew Valley right now for similar reasons, having never played a Harvest Moon or whatever.
I mean actually my Top 10 list from last year illustrates this pretty well I think:
1. Heroes Of The Storm - MOBA
2. Pillars Of Eternity - RPG
3. Hearthstone (mobile) - CCG
4. Cities Skylines - sim
5. Her Story - FMV!
6. Undertale - RPG
7. Pokemon Shuffle - puzzle
8. GTA V - open world whatever
9. Resident Evil Revelations 2 - survival horror
10. Life Is Strange - adventure
The only genre that repeated is RPG, but Pillars and Undertale are very very different styles of RPG.

I'll probably pick up Overwatch on a sale or something, but I just don't think it's worth $60 for me.

99 or 2k4? 99 is probably a better game, but I could happily play 2k4 with a random map generator for the rest of time.ElkinFencer10 wrote:Unreal Tournament, brah. 2k3 gave me Bombing Run, which was perfected in 2k4, even if it was overshadowed by Onslaught.

2k4 was my first UT game, so it's always going to be my favorite for nostalgia if nothing else, but I love all of them. UT3 is probably my least favorite, though. I've got the whole series on Steam, though, as well as UT3 on PS3; UT on Dreamcast and PS2; and Unreal 2, UC, and UC2 on Xbox.fastbilly1 wrote:99 or 2k4? 99 is probably a better game, but I could happily play 2k4 with a random map generator for the rest of time.
