What was the last movie you've seen?

If they actually did that I'd be more interested in watching the movie.

Ya I didn't go, gave them to another person.

Challenger Disaster: Lost Tapes
They claim this is unseen before footage of the teacher who was set to go into space on that unfortunate day.

I have only one question for those who saw BvS already: Is Jason Momoa's Aquaman actually in the damn movie? They released that one still of him in makeup and that's it! No further hype, no glimpse of him in the trailer, nothing!

Zack Snyder kind of ... sucks.
I'm interested in BvS and probably going to see it this weekend. Totally optimistic about Ben and all too. But... Zack Snyder sucks. I didn't care for Man of Steel much so that could be a bad sign.

See I've been a big fan of his movies so far, but they definitely favor style over substance. Not to say they have zero substance - Watchmen was good, I agreed with almost all of the changes he made. But they're definitely more into the stylistic component of it.Xeogred wrote:Zack Snyder kind of ... sucks.

I'm sure I'll see it in the next week or two, but there's extremely few movies I rush out to see these days. Deadpool was a notable exception.

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I enjoyed the last Superman movie, but this one... wasn't very good. The action sequences were fine. The acting was even fine. Heck, even Affleck did well with Batman. But there was no saving the disjointed, ponderous, poorly-paced script. Very disappointed with this one.
Plus, it's basically two different storylines weaved into one, and it doesn't work. I thought the back half was fine. The first half had so many interesting places they could have gone, and just... didn't. It attempted to have gravitas, but bungled it completely.
I realize they're trying to play catch-up to Marvel, but this was not the way to do it.

It'll be funny if Deadpool does better haha, on probably 1/20th of the budget. Deadpool was fantastic and a nice change of pace after all the PG stuff.
I've seen most of Synder's movies myself, Watchman was solid, but even including that one, I feel like his movies are a one shot deal for me. I have no drive or interest to rewatch them at all. Man of Steel I wasn't big on almost exclusively because of the lame grayscale gradient he threw over the entire film, and it was so ULTRA serious even moreso than Nolan Batman to me, that it was to the point of being hilarious in a way. I don't really care that Superman killed thousands or whatever and that's out of character, but the tone and acting really brought it down for me. Certainly better than the 2006 movie though, yikes.
So yeah, I have a hunch this movie will have the exact same problems. Stale acting and an over the top ridiculous serious tone that's unintentionally funny.
DC were probably betting a lot of this, it's about as crucial as it could get for them to set the pace and catch up to Marvel's films.
Anyways, might be another good one watch haha... but I'm definitely way more interested in Apocalypse and Civil War. Even though Apocalypse looks like Ivan Ooze. And I don't want to sound like I'm more into Marvel or anything, a lot of the movies are pretty stinky to me. But I really dug Days of Future Past and Winter Solider knocked it out of the park, so these sequels having the same directors is promising.

Saw Deadpool last weekend with my partner! She and I both loved it
It just did the really funny with the pretty serious stuff so well, it never felt awkward or contrary at all. A really nice mix of Pacific Rim-level of fun action mixed with a Big Lebowski-level of not giving a damn. A really funny great watch, and this is coming from someone who doesn't even watch movies frequently, let alone in a theater.
