What was the last movie you've seen?

Loved it. Awesome '80s-style action film (though not in the same "so-'80s-it-hurts" style of "Kung Fury").
I shut it off after like 20 mins. Just didn't hold my interest. Shrug.
It starts a bit rough, it does get a bit better though. The camp and cheese is a bit too goofy and over the top at times, but it does gain a certain charm by the end.

Turbo Kid is pretty neat but I can also understand the opinion that it's a little grating. That said it doesn't bludgeon you over the head like Kung Fury which is a positive. It's more of a style instead of being the entire point.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - season 2

Season one is much more focused, though it was just a mini-series. Season 2 is kind of all over the place. It starts with a terrible story arc that runs 3 or so episodes. Then you get some good ones (Baxter Stockman turning into a fly) or at least some funny ones (the Punk Frogs) and ultimately ends pretty good. But overall, a mixed bag for the season.

Finally saw the DVD. The movie attempts humor, really bad and crappy acting. The midget did a great job spoofing the jerk from King Of Kong though.

I did like the memorable runs of the various games and sadly I think I recognized every single game icon except one! Saw Pacman, Galaga, Qbert, Burger Time, Joust, Space Invaders, Defender, Robotron and many others. The Centipede chapter was well done and entertaining with the 80s music. Too bad during the Donkey Kong sequence they did not tease hold the ladder rung to prevent the barrels from dropping.

How many caught the identity of the short appearance game sprites in the Taj Mahal attack?
Appears to be Arkanoid to me. Yep, wife thought I was a complete nerd calling off all the Arcade Cabinets!
Oh, the one icon I did not recognize was the mothership. Did not look like the mothership from Phoenix, Google showed Galaga. Too many "pixels" in the ship, did not look like 8 bit. Should have connected that tractor beam, der! :?

Watched this last week. Interesting.

Watched this recently (the entire trilogy was on TCM's TCM Underground programming block, each entry airing week after week). Somehow more engaging than Part 2.

Wish I could have seen Part 1.

Image

Liked it. It was on right after DoWC3.

Pixels always struck me as one of those 'nostalgia' movies that was better viewed in clip form, rather than as a whole film. Look at the neat animations, get a little nostalgia kick and then move on. Much more than that and it'll probably become painful.

you should probably see it, Michi. Just to say you did. But do like I did and wait until you manage to see it for free.

I haven't really enjoyed any of Sandlers recent offerings, anyway. So if ever I do see it, FREE is definitely the goal. Maybe it'll pop up on Prime at some point and in a moment of weakness I make a poor life choice. Who knows.

how do I put this?

I've sat through far worse movies than Pixels... and I've enjoyed those movies far more.
