As my arcade interest has grown, my console interest has waned. But not enough that I'm considering selling anything that has Sega, Sony, or Nintendo in the name. Or even Atari.

Also, speaking of my arcade stuff... my Neo seems to have issues changing games. I wonder if it's because I have it set Free Play with hard dips? I know that Free Play occasionally does weird shit to games. Gotta take it apart tomorrow and flip the dip back and see if that clears it up. If not, maybe the wires going to the switch are acting up (considering the ones to my P1 D button were loose)

Part of me just wants to get a whole new wiring loom... for everything. Rejuvenate! But I have candy cab buttons/sticks to buy first.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

The original three episodes of Wolfenstein 3D are awesome; The Nocturnal Missions on the other hand are bullshit. Let's hope the missions in Spear of Destiny are more like the first three.

I'm the same way. I always think about that site game-oldies.com. I can go on there and play pretty much any game I want, any time. So why am I waiting for a good price to pay for a complete copy of Snatcher?? I like collecting though. Sure it's a little illogical, but collecting stuff in general is. At least with games you actually do something with them. You could collect Civil War belt buckles or something and that would be fine too, but most stuff is for display purposes only. This at least you're legitimately getting something you can use.

I do contemplate what life would be like if I trimmed a lot of the fat on my collection. The answer is, virtually the same. I'm never going to play my copy of Air Diver for the Genesis, and if someone wants to give me the $6 I paid for it, nothing would change and I'd have $6. That could be extrapolated out to probably 3/4 of my collection, and I give that estimate without hesitation. Again though: collecting.

kind of a tangent, but have you actually done that? I've seen sites like that - where you can make a username and save your games and stuff. But I don't know. Those sites always looked kind of creepy to me.

Ya know honestly I think I did once, but it pretty much amounted to finding a random game that came to mind, starting it, and hitting a few buttons and saying "huh cool". Don't really know much past that other than I was surprised that more or less "all the games" were there.

Spear of Destiny is definitely more like the first three episodes. The boss maps are pretty evil, but that's ok because they're boss maps.

One cannot gain or lose their casualness; it is something you are born with. Instead, be happy with your casualness and embrace it.

Spear of Destiny's maps are less insane than the Nocturnal Missions, yes. I think one of the issues with Wolfenstein 3D is once you've cleared the first three episodes and killed Hitler it starts getting old. I do enjoy Spear of Destiny though, and how it kind-of-sort-of ties into Doom at the end.

I don't recommend the "lost missions" that have new graphics and come with the CD version of Spear of Destiny. They're not made by Id and they're pretty crap. They also don't further the story in any way not that it matters. They're an interesting curiosity but not much more.

Telltale is making a Batman adventure game. I feel like that will be really good.
