Those things you said which I quoted above, are all what I love so dearly about the KF series. Really looking forward to your review.prfsnl_gmr wrote:all of the combat takes place in real-time, and it is more dependent on planning and skill
The game is also much more focused on exploration and problem-solving.
My character is basically alone in a hostile (and somewhat alien) world, and the game provides absolutely no guidance regarding how to navigate it.
I basically chart my own path through the game.

PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: RPG Progress Report
Eiger. Though Glory is pretty good for drawing fire and then spamming medkits. I just never found her good at dealing damage; no matter which weapon I use her accuracy is low. But she's got boatloads of health.Ack wrote:Are we talking Eiger or Glory here for Dragonfall? Because I really like having Eiger on my team with that rifle of hers.

Good. Eiger fits my personal style better; using her has been like swatting flies with a Buick.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Been making progress in Deep Dungeon.
The game is a really basic dungeon-crawler where you simply grind on each floor until you're strong enough to descend to the next one.
I actually wish the encounter rate was higher. Enemies are more apt to attack if you stand still but that's rather boring. If I have to grind I like to pace around.
The music is terrible and can be toggled on/off with the START button. I think the developers realized how shitty it was.
One minor and specific gripe I have is that when you open a door you also step through it automatically. It's bit disorienting for a second.
I know I'm complaining a bit but the game's pretty fun overall. It takes little "effort" to play and I'm just comfortably sailing through it.

I'm stealing that for my inevitable blog entry about the game.

I don't think the human body can bend that way.
